Prom. The biggest popularity contest in high school. I was debating on even going but my friends were forcing me. They went shopping with me for a dress I ended up with a knee length black dress with a laced back and sleeves. I straightened my hair and pinned all of it to one side. I was forced into a chair while my friend did my makeup. Base, foundation, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, the works. I looked in the mirror and barely recognized myself. I slid my feet into my heels and turned around to see my friend staring at me gleefully.
"You look gorgeous!! Every guy will be falling all over you!" She complimented. I rolled my eyes and smiled. A limo pulled up in my driveway as my friend ushered us outside. She looked so excited as she opened the door for me allowing me to step inside. I sat on the cool leather and inhaled the sweet scent running through the air. She took the seat next to me and we rode in style to the high school. She opened the door and led me to the arena where Prom was being held. I stood in the arena awkwardly as my friend ran off with her date. Soon enough a cute blond boy stood in front of me with a rose in his hand.
"I'm sorry for not asking you to the dance when I had the chance. You're really pretty and I was really nervous but I brought you this and I was wondering if you would like to dance with me." He blurted nervously handing me a rose. I smiled and took his outstretched hand. A slow song was playing and I wrapped my arms around his neck and his around my waist.
"You are beautiful you know." He stated.
"Thank you, Sam. You don't look to bad yourself." I told him with a wink. By the end of the night I'd danced with Sam all night and after Prom we went out to eat. We landed ourselves in a booth at waffle house. I ordered a coffee and he ordered a hot chocolate. He kept sneaking glances at me before he decided to take me home. He dropped me off at my door and bid me goodbye.
"Wait, Sam." I told him grabbing his hand. I pulled him back to me and kissed him passionately.
"Woah, I'd say that was a pretty good first kiss." He blushed when he realized he said that out loud.
"I'm glad I was your first kiss. Goodnight Sammy, thank you for tonight." I told him as he walked to his car and drove off. I walked in and pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
