Having the house to myself with my brothers best friend may sound bad to some people but I mean we clearly didn't mind that much. Sam and I were still in the kitchen just talking this time instead of the alternative (making out) which I didn't mind either. He was standing between my legs and leaning on my thighs biting his bottom lip occasionally. He stared at me as if in awe of something.
"Do I have something on my face?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He pulled himself out of his thoughts and looked at me.
"What? No, I was just admiring the beauty I have sitting before me." He added smoothly winking at me. He moved his hands to my hips and rested them there. I blushed slightly hoping he didn't notice. He did. He raised an eyebrow suspiciously moving his hands lower and slipping them under me only pick me up by my bum. I gasped slightly as my weight shifted to his hands. I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried me to the living room and sat me on the couch. We watched some old movies and cuddled together. I was no longer nervous being around him. I had fallen asleep to the rythmic beating of his heart and he looked down at me kissing my forehead softly and playing with my hair. I really didn't want this weekend to end. Sam had gotten a text message from Colby asking what was going on because Colby had asked Sam to watch out for me this weekend. Sam texted back saying I was asleep avoiding the fact that I happened to be sleeping on him. Soon after I'd woken up I began to get really hungry. I checked the time and it was around 6 p.m. Sam looked at me.
"Hey sleepyhead, you hungry? I was thinking about taking you out." He asked and I nodded anxiously. We got in my car and he drove us to a small diner a few blocks away. We'd ordered our food and some girls from school walked to our table.
"Hey Sammy, why are you here with her? You can clearly get ANY other girl and you choose this one. Gross. Downgrade I'd say." One of them said looking at Sam. I looked down with a tear trying to escape my eye instead of letting it fall I stood up finally getting sick and tired of being treated like trash and looked her in her prissy little face.
"Listen here. If you don't think I'm good enough to be with Sam why don't you say it to my face instead of pretending I can't hear you. Clearly if I'm here with him he wanted to take me out. You can't talk shit about someone else unless you're perfect. And sorry you're not. You have no idea how tired I am of the things I go through because of you and your little army of skanks. So I suggest you leave us alone or I'm gonna knock some of your pretty white teeth out. Thanks." I spat at her and she looked utterly shocked. I have never stood up for myself like that and God was I happy about getting it off my chest.
"Toodles." I waved to her mocking her preppy voice as she walked out her friends following quickly behind.
"Damn." Sam said with a look I didn't quite understand, "That. Was. Hot." He continued.
"I've been dying to say that since 6th grade." I admitted. Finally the waitress came with our food and we ate in a peaceful silence.
