The snow fell softly covering the streets. I looked back at my boyfriend of two and a half years, sitting on the couch drinking hot chocolate in his Stitch onesie on the couch while Spongebob played on the tv. I sat down beside him and cuddled to his chest. New Years Eve.
"Colby, are we gonna hava a New Years party this year?" I asked him curiously. He looked away from the television and to me.
"Well I was thinking you and I could just celebrate together this year." He said and I nodded being completely contempt with his idea. I looked at the time and it was nearly 11 o'clock. 1 hour before midnight. Colby had gone somewhere and I wasn't sure where but he'd been gone a few hours. Around 11:45 Colby reappeared in our apartment with a bright red nose. He told me to go get some warm clothes on that we were going somewhere. So I did. When I returned from our bedroom he had some type of cloth in his hand. He blindfolded me and walked me to the elevator in our apartment building. I couldn't see what button he pressed but suddenly we were jolted and started to move. I was pulled out of the elevator and it was cold. Colby wasn't near me but I could hear his voice.
"You can take off your blindfold now, Babe." He told me and once I could see Colby was on one knee in front of me. I looked around and we were on the roof of our building and it had lights and balloons and flowers everywhere I looked back at Colby as I noticed the diamond ring he had in the box in his hands tears started sliding down my cheeks.
"Will you make me the happiest man on the planet and do me the honors of marrying me?" He asked me while looking me in the face as the tears rolled down. I nodded my head frantically,
"Yes. Yes. Yes, a million times yes." I told him as he slid the ring on my finger picking me up and twirling me around. He set me down on my feet and kissed me passionately, warming me instantly.
"I love you, Colby...so much." I told him and he rested his forehead on mine.
"I love you too Baby girl...more than you could ever imagine." When we got back to our apartment we noticed we missed half the countdown.
"5,4,3,2,1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" I shouted with Colby and pulled him into another passionate kiss.
"Might I say, best new years EVER." I told him excitedly.
"I'd vouch for that." He confessed kissing me yet again.
