Real Name

Over the course of the next few days, everyone kept their distance from Amber. Everyone seemed to fear the sixteen-year-old but Jason Todd a.k.a. the new Robin. Amber didn't care if everyone else was afraid of her  because she had Jason to keep her company.  After a few weeks, the two seem inseparable. You won't see one without the other. But the one thing that she seemed to be curious about is who was the person behind the mask. Dinah and Oliver have taken her out for parties several times  and she wondered if she ever meet the guy behind the mask.  Amber was currently staring a piece of cake that Jason give her for her birthday. She smiled at Jason and hugged him.

"Thank you," she whispered into his ear. 

"No problem, I have to go but I'll catch up with you later."

"Okay," Amber smiled at him until he disappeared from sight and Amber's eyes wandered towards the piece of cake. Her mind seemed to drift away from reality. 

June 10

 Five years before

"Princess?"

"Yes, Mom?" 

"Aren't you going to get ready for your birthday party?" She asked Amber who looked down at her muddy clothes and then looked back at Pepper.

"I'll be right back," Amber smiled before running off to her room to change. Pepper smiled to herself as she watched the girl that she has come to love as a daughter  run to her room. Her smile then turned into a frown  as she shook her head and walked towards Tony's lab. 

Amber walked out of her room and run into Pietro, literally. He was passing by when she bumped into him making them both  fall with  Pietro on top of her.

"Pie!! " Was her nickname for him, "You're crushing me under your weight!" 

"Opps." Pietro quickly got up helping Amber up as well. 

"You sure are heavy." 

He smiled and ruffled Amber's hair before speeding away .

"Hey!" Amber called out but knew that he didn't hear it and instead smiled to herself as she made her way downstairs towards the party room. Once she was downstairs she caught her parents dancing to some  soft classical music. Amber decided not to bother them and went into the kitchen. 

"Hey, bro, Aunt Nat." 

Vision turned around and smiled at Amber. 

"Hello, Adeline." Vision replied. 

"Amber, what are you doing here?" Nat asked as she started to place candles on top of a cake. 

"I want to know if I can help?"

"That's nice of you but today is your big day."

"So?"

"You should be out having fun or something."

"Like go to the library?" 

"Sure."

Amber smiled, "Hey, Vision do you want to come?" 

"I'm sorry Adelina but I'm a bit busy."

"I understand," Amber assured him before she felt and headed towards the library that Tony had made just for her. After getting through half of Pendragon series Amber decide to find Steve to see if he wanted to see a movie. After 20 minutes of searching for Steve, she found him in the training room. It was around four p.m. and the party didn't start until seven so all the Avengers decided to watch a movie with Amber. Amber, of course, choose Star Wars which everyone should have seen coming. They all sat on the couch Amber sitting between Tony and Pepper. She rested her head on her father's chest and slowly started to drift to sleep. 

"I'm guessing you're missing your family." M'gann voice brought Amber back to reality. Amber looked up from the cake to see M'gann, Kaldur, Nightwing, and Wally standing there.  

"How long were you standing there?"

"Long enough for us to figure out that you miss your family and your birthday parties,"Wally answered.  Amber looked at M'gann knowing that she was the one who just entered her mind without asking and shared what she thinking  with this three young men.

"It's a nice memory you keep,"  Kaldur spoke as he sat down next to Amber. "You and your family were tight." 

"Yeah before I became a monster." Amber looked away, " And was turned into Hydra's new pet." Amber spoke  venom falling  from every word that left her mouth.

"Who is Adelina?" Nightwing asked.

"Me." Amber replied, "It's my real name, Adeline Margaret Carter."
