Rob's Perspective
Vikk was quiet while be helped Lachlan into the back seat of the car. All he did was climb right in next to him, resting his head on his shoulder. Lachlan wrapped his arm around Vikk's waist and, needless to say, I wanted to cry with how cute they were.
"Lachlan? We're going to drop you off first."
"Okay."
Lachlan yawned, the two in the back switching position. Vikk, of course, wasn't tired, the time not having yet fallen into the morning. Lachlan leaned onto his shoulder, Vikk tracing small shapes and patterns onto the palm of his hand. Mitch had all but fallen asleep next to me, his head leaned against the window. I heard Lachlan's quiet snores in the back, the Aussie had too, fallen asleep.
"Vikk?"
"Yeah Rob."
"Where are you going to stay?"
The vampire went completely silent. Looking out the window to avoid answering.
"Vikk?""I... I haven't really thought about that yet. I guess, I don't really have anywhere to go. The Cirque was my only home."
I pulled into Lachlan's house, the sun having just started to rise. How long were we at the hospital?"Lachy. Come on Lachy, it's time to wake up."
Vikk gently shook Lachlan's shoulder, giving him a small kiss on the cheek to wake him up. Lachlan's eyes fluttered open. Seeing Vikk he pulled his small frame closer, nuzzling his nose into the crook of his neck. Vikk's face flaming red.
"Lachy, you need to wake up. We're at your house."
I got out of the car, opening Lachlan's side door, I blocked the sun from touching Vikk, using my body like a shield.
"Vikky." Lachlan pressed a kiss under his chin. "Will you come in with me?"
Vikk looked out the window at the slowly rising sun.
"I don't think so Lachy. I'll visit you later okay?""Promise?"
Vikk smiled, a genuine, toothy, fang tipped smile. His cheeks pink with an embarrassed glance my way."I promise."
I helped Lachlan out of the car, finally having disentangled himself from the Brit. He propped himself up on the crutches and I wound my arm around his waist. We made our way slowly up to the door, knocking on the wood. Lachlan's mom opened the door, her face furious when she set eyes on the Australian."Lachlan Ross Power! Where have you been? Your father and I have been looking for you all morning!"
"Hello Mrs. Power. I saw Lachlan outside, going for a walk. He tripped and sprained his ankle not far from my house. I helped him get to the hospital. I would've called, but neither of us had our phones on us."
She sighed, her expression turning neutral, she placed one hand over Lachlan's shoulders, helping him inside.
"Thank you Robert. I don't know what has gotten into him lately. I'm glad he has good friends like you.""No problem Mrs. Power."
I said my goodbyes, heading back out into the car. Vikk was sitting silently, his face angled away from the window.
I backed out of the driveway, heading towards Mitch's house. He was still asleep in the passenger seat. I pulled into his driveway, shaking him softly to wake him.
"Mitch, wake up. You're home."
Mitch yawned, opening his eyes as he glanced up towards his house. He stretched, opening the door.
"Thanks Rob. Bye Vikk."
"Bye Mitch."
The Canadian made his way to the other side of his house, jumping up and grabbing a hold of the first floor window ledge. He pulled himself inside, disappearing from our view.
I turned my face back towards Vikk, yawning in the seat. The sun had all but risen, and the vamp was struggling.
"Hey Vikk. Ready to go?"
The Brit jumped up in his seat, rubbing his eyes as he looked at me.
"Huh! Oh, Rob... Yeah, sorry.""It's okay. We should hurry anyway, the sun is rising fast. "
I wasn't tired in the least bit, my body still running high on adrenaline."We?"
"Well yeah, where else are you going to stay?"
Vikk stayed silent.
"I don't know... Are you sure that is okay?""Of course Vikk. I live alone anyway. I'd be glad to finally have some company."
"Thanks Rob. This means a ton. I'll have to repay you some day."
"No need. I'm glad you and Lachlan found each other."
"So am I..."
