Just Friends

Part 4

"Sergio look!" Aleana said as she brought in the flowers that Gareth had sent her.

Sergio didn't even look up from his plate and replied. "Yeah, sure, they're pretty."

Ale rolled her eyes at the comment as she kept admiring the flowers. Ale grabbed her phone and went to text a thank you note to Gareth, they had finally exchanged numbers yesterday night.

"Isn't it a bit creepy? He probably stalked you to know where you lived." Sergio said in a bitter tone but Aleana just brushed off his comment and kept typing on her phone.

"At what time do you have to go training?" Ale asked Sergio as she sat back down in front of him.

"I got the day off today since we're playing against Atletico de Madrid next Friday." Said Sergio.

"We can have like a best friend day!" Ale said excitedly. "We haven't had one of our all day best friend dates in forever!"

A huge smile appeared on Sergio's face as he nodded. "Sure we can have one, but can we first go back to sleep?"

"I can't go to sleep now! I'm too excited."

"Ale, come on. Just a little thirty minute nap." Sergio said.

"Fine, but I'll be watching friends all the time." Said Ale rolling her eyes. "I'm starting to think that all this time we didn't talk you were probably just sleeping."

"Hey! I train really hard! I need my sleep." He said as he wrapped his arms around Ale and pulled her closer, taking in her welcoming scent. Before closing his eyes, he saw Ale responding a text from Gareth. He was too tired to be angry again so he just closed his eyes and fell asleep.

"Sergio, Sese." Sergio faintly heard Aleana talking to him and shaking him. "It's almost time for lunch and you haven't gotten ready."

"I'd get ready a lot quicker if you would join me in the shower." Sergio said with a cocky smile after a yawn.

"Too bad I've already had a shower while you were sleeping." Aleana said getting up from the bed and grabbing her makeup bag. "Hurry up, I made reservations in the Greek restaurant downtown."

Sergio got out of the drivers seat of the car as he saw the valet approaching the car. He went on the other side and opened the door for Ale. Flashing lights were everywhere, they both headed into the restaurant.

"I thought the paparazzi were here for me until I heard them asking you questions about your work in the palace. You're getting more famous than me!" Sergio said as they both sat down on the table, Aleana just smiled. She was really proud of her work and how far she had gotten in the last years.

They were both looking at their menus when Aleana's phone started ringing. She answered it and a smile formed on her mouth. It was Gareth.

"I see you recieved my flowers, did you like them?" Gareth asked.

"I did, they're very pretty. Thank you, again."

"Don't worry about it. A pretty girl should always have pretty flowers. She should also have dinner dates, would you care for one?" He asked, his accent sounded a bit more bold than last night and Aleana was a sucker for accents.

"Tonight? I actually can't tonight, I kind of have an all day event." Aleana said and Sergio perked up.

"Who is it?" Sergio mouthed but Aleana just dismissed him, Sergio asked the question again and Aleana covered the phone. "Gareth." She whispered.

They kept taking for about a minute and hung up. "Okay, cut it out. What's your problem?"

"My problem? What do you mean?" Sergio asked looking at the plate of food that had just arrived.

"Your problem with Gareth. Every time I talk to him or mention him your face looks like it's about to explode and you get like mad or something." Aleana said crossing her arms.

"It's nothing." He replied as he was taking a mouthful of Hummus.

"Don't you think I'm going to let this slide. Tell me what's wrong." Ale said shooting him a look of determination.

"It's just." Sergio said with a sigh. "Gareth is a great friend and all it's just that, I've seen him with girls. He talks them up and charms his way into their bed and never calls again. I can see you're starting to like this guy, but it's just. I don't want you to get fucked over like that, no pun intended." Sergio said, the last part with a small smile.

"Sese," Ale said grabbing his hand. "Why couldn't you have said that before? I'll stop seeing him."

"No, I don't want you to stop seeing him just because I told you."

"You don't need to feel guilty. I'll stop seeing him, because I want to stop. It'll be sad that I won't give him a chance, but I'm not willing to take that risk or having in the back of my mind that he only wants to get into my bed." Said Aleana smiling. "Thank you, for worrying about me."

"Hey, I love you, it's obvious that I'll worry about you." Sergio said grabbing her hand and placing a kiss on it.

In that very moment, the flashing lights came back and they both turned around to see that the paparazzi had come over to a window near their table to take some more pictures.

"Can't wait to see what tomorrow's headlines are going to say 'Sergio Ramos and Aleana Cuellar are finally dating'". Sergio said rolling his eyes and she nodded.

The rest of the lunch date went smoothly, both of them laughing and telling stories about what had happened in the time that they weren't talking.
The lunch had come to an end and they were both wondering what they should do, when Ale's phone started ringing. It was Sara.

"Hola Sara, what's up." Aleana said as she was pulled closer by Sergio into a sideways hug, with his arm around her shoulders.

"Ale, I just went over the plans for the master bedroom with Iker. He apparently doesn't approve of the plans that we have made." Sara said which made Aleana laugh a little bit since she could hear how annoyed Sara was. "I was wondering if you could come over to see if he likes the other plan we had."

"Yes, of course, I'll be right over. I hope you don't mind, but I'm with Sergio." Ale said.

"Of course I don't mind, both of you can come over. Maybe Sergio will make Iker change his mind." Sara said with a laugh.

"We'll be there in about twenty minutes!" Aleana said and hung up. "We need to go to Iker's house, got some work to do."

"Sure, let's go." Sergio said opening the car door for Aleana.
