"You didn't have to get all dolled up for me babe." Sergio smiled as he saw Aleana running around the house in her outfit.
"Sergio, you're distracting me."
"It's barely eleven, you said your meeting was at twelve thirty." Sergio said rolling his eyes and taking a sip of his coffee.
"Yes, but I can't find my other heel and there's always traffic near El Club Allard." Ale said while looking underneath her bed for her left black heel and sighing as she found it there.
"What kind of client takes their interior designer to El Club?" Sergio frowned, that restaurant was one of the most expensive to dine at in Madrid.
"He's some kind of actor. You know who he is, he's kind of big here, Mario Casas?" Aleana said rushing out of her bedroom and smoothing back her hair into a neat ponytail.
"Mario Casas is taking you out for lunch at El Club Allard?" Sergio frowned even more, he didn't like the sound of that.
"Sese, we're having a meeting. To which, if I don't leave now, I'll be late." Ale smiled and gave him a kiss before leaving the apartment.
Sergio sat on the couch confused, he was jealous. Aleana was a very pretty girl and he didn't want anyone thinking that she was there alone. Sergio swirled the idea of going to lunch at El Club and sending her bottles of champagne, caviar and things like that but quickly discarded the idea. He knew that this was just a meeting and Aleana was just doing her job.
Sergio had the whole day to himself and was planning on fully taking advantage of it. He would stop by his parent's house knowing that his niece would be there.
"Uncle Sergio!" Daniella ran towards him and he fake fell to the ground.
"You're getting so big, I almost can't carry you anymore." Sergio joked as he put her on the floor again. Renee and Carlos, Miriam's fiance, entered the room.
"She was dying to see you." Renee said while helping his brother up.
"Where is Ale? Miriam has been talking nonstop about how she wanted to show Ale all of the different flowers and venues and napkins for the wedding." Carlos said with a laugh.
"She had a meeting for a potential client, they were having lunch at El Club." Sergio said, not wanting to show emotion. He wanted to see if he was the only one who thought that the place for lunch was an odd one.
"What do you mean El Club?" Renee said furrowing his eyebrows.
"El Club Allard." Sergio said and Renee and Carlos shot Sergio a surprised look.
"Which hundred year old rich man invited Ale there." Carlos said laughing.
"It's Mario Casas, an actor." Sergio said shyly and added. "He's my age."
In that moment Miriam rushed out of the kitchen door. "Aleana is having lunch with THE Mario Casas? I think I'm going to faint."
"I, your fiancé, am right here." Carlos said rolling his eyes.
"So, I'm not the only one who thinks this is more of a date than a meeting." Sergio said with a sigh sitting down.
"It's just a meeting Sergio, relax." Miriam said patting her brother's back.
"I really loved what you did in Sara's house, she gave me a tour yesterday." Mario said smiling at Aleana.
"Thank you, it was a bit of work but everything worked out." Aleana replied taking a sip of her lemon water. They had already been here for nearly an hour and the only thing that Mario had done was compliment her work. "So, where's your apartment? Do you have a specific style in mind?"
"I actually want to know a bit about you." Mario said with another smile, he had some champagne brought to the table.
"It's Tuesday and one, I can't have a drink right now."
"C'mon, your client is asking you too. Plus, it's five pm somewhere right?" Mario said pushing the glass of Dom closer to her.
She took a small sip. "There's not that much to know about me, I graduated a few years back from The University of Oxford, I studied in London and I'm a partner at Stanley Draper & Partners."
"London, that sounds amazing. There's beautiful architecture over there, everything so vintage and well taken care of. We should go there sometime, appreciate how beautiful it looks and take in some of what London has to offer." Mario said, insinuating that Ale was the it in 'How beautiful it looks'.
"Mario, I'm flattered but-" Aleana started to say, she considered telling him that she had a boyfriend. But she didn't, Sergio hadn't made things official and for all she knew he just wanted things like always. Both of them getting the boyfriend-girlfriend treatment but never being a couple. "My schedule is kind of air tight with meetings, I can't go to London just because."
Mario smiled, he was thinking she was about to reject him. He was pleasantly surprised when she didn't. "We'll find a weekend to get away."
After that, Aleana loosened up a little bit and enjoyed Mario's company. He was a pretty relaxed guy and showed a lot of interest in her. She got home pretty early and saw that Sergio wasn't there.
"Hey Sese, where are you? I just got home." Aleana smiled as she saw that Sergio had cleaned up around the house. "Were you trying to gain brownie points with me? The house looks sparkling clean."
"I did clean up." Sergio said feeling proud. "I came over to my parent's, how did your meeting go?"
Aleana debated on telling him what had actually happened, but decided not to. "It went really great, we just decided on some basic things and colors."
"That's great Ale, I'll be home in an hour probably. I'm buying the tickets for Sevilla right now. Thursday at 10:30 okay?" He asked.
"Perfect." Ale said sitting down, they hung up shortly after. Aleana felt a bit uneasy, she didn't know why. She technically hadn't lied to Sergio, but she strangely felt guilty.
