"So, how is she? Did she- did she-" Sergio tried to say but couldn't find the right words.
"Did she see you sleeping with some random girl on her couch? Yes." Gareth said as he pulled his shirt over his head, getting ready to leave.
"Yeah, that." Sergio said with a defeated sigh.
"You couldn't have picked a worse day to fuck things up." Gareth said shaking his head. "What is going on with you? A few days ago you said that you were in love with her."
"You don't understand." Sergio said, trying to explain why he had slept with another woman.
"No, you don't understand, how happy Aleana was when she finally understood that you two are meant to be together and would make the perfect couple. And you don't understand how torn apart she was when she came back from her apartment after seeing you and some random woman." Gareth said, leaving the changing rooms a bit mad at Sergio.
Sergio looked down at his watch. "Three thirty." He said under his breath trying to think where Aleana could be. He decided to go to the apartment. He unlocked the door and saw Aleana sitting in the dining area, instead of her usual spot on the couch.
"I, I haven't had the chance to go buy the other couch." Sergio spoke quietly, rubbing the back of his head.
"I can do it, I just need your credit card." Aleana said, not looking up at him. "Not right not though, I have to go."
"Aleana, please-" Sergio was cut off.
"I'm running late to a meeting." Aleana said before rolling her eyes. She couldn't believe she was doing this, an hour earlier Marc had called her. Asking her to come by his apartment to pick up some things of hers.
"Can we talk, when you come back?" Sergio asked.
"I don't know, I have a lot of errands to run. I don't know when I'll be back." Aleana replied simply pushing her glasses back and slinging her purse on her shoulder.
"But Ale-" Sergio yet again was cut off, but this time it was the door. He sat down in front of his computer and decided to buy the couch. It was the least he could do.
"Why are you stalling Marc, I'm just here to grab my things and leave." Aleana said as she walked through her ex boyfriend's hallway. Marc had bought an apartment in Madrid when things got serious with Aleana. Well 'serious'
"C'mon Aleana, I just want to catch up." Marc said, sitting on one of the love seats in his living room, patting his legs for Aleana to sit on them.
Ale scoffed. "To be honest, I don't even know what I'm doing here, I'm pretty sure I didn't leave anything here."
"You did leave some things here, they're in the box over there." Marc said pointing to a box on the table.
"Thanks." Aleana said rolling her eyes.
"So, I see you've been seeing Sergio a lot more." Marc said.
"I guess." Aleana said looking at the things in the box, most of the things weren't hers and she knew that Marc just wanted to have her there for her to tell him something about Real Madrid.
"How's everything over there, in Ciudad Real Madrid?" Marc asked with a smile as he stood up and went behind Aleana, grabbing her waist.
"What are you even doing here Marc? Shouldn't you be warming up the bench in Barcelona?" Aleana said annoyed moving his hand from her waist.
"Funny, that was what I was going to tell you. I'm going to Germany." Marc said, moving some of Aleana's hair kissing her neck. "You're going to miss me babe, I was wondering if you wanted to give me a goodbye present?"
"You're disgusting." Aleana said pushing him away, she grabbed the few things in the box that were hers and turned and left the apartment. Shutting the door in her car, she let out a sigh.
Aleana spent about two hours wandering around a nearby shopping center, not wanting to go back home.
"Aleana?" A voice asked behind her as she turned around she saw Neymar with a baseball cap and sunglasses, obviously trying not to be recognized.
"Neymar? How are you?" She asked with a huge smile, he was who she needed to see.
"Good, it's been too long. Since, you well, broke things off with Marc." Neymar said quietly, not knowing if he should or shouldn't mention Marc.
"You don't have to be like that around me, I'm better. I've gotten over him." Aleana spoke with pride, mentally patting herself on the back for saying that.
"That's good, you were always a good friend Ale! And it's good to see you, to be honest, I kind of wanted to see you. When I came down here." Neymar confessed with a smile.
"What is it with you guys," Aleana said chuckling. "what are you doing here? You Barça boys (lowkey mentioning claryvette and her story Barça Boys because it's amazing you need to read it if you haven't... Also, lowkey fangirling over another writer!!.)"
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I, actually, just came from seeing Marc. Wanted me to give him a goodbye present." Aleana said annoyed.
"Well isn't he just charming." Neymar said sarcastically. "Some of the team came down here because Marc wanted to spend his last days in Spain here. Since he's selling his apartment here, and he's already sold his other one in Barcelona."
"Well, that's nice of you guys, to push away your pride and come down to Madrid." Aleana said laughing a bit, poking at Neymar's arm.
"Look, I would love to stand around here for hours. But, we're gonna have to go dinner somewhere around here because I'm starving." She said and Neymar agreed.
The two friends spent almost three more hours in the restaurant and the conversation was still flowing naturally. During her relationship with Marc, Aleana and Neymar had gotten extremely close. But, she had cut all ties with everyone in Barcelona after the breakup. And Neymar understood why she had done that.
After a while, Aleana decided it was finally time to go home.
"Thanks for taking me to my car." Aleana said with a smile.
"Don't worry about it Ale, I hope we can see each other more. I do miss you over in Barcelona, you should come visit." Neymar said while giving her a hug, and with that he left.
It soon dawned on Aleana that she had to go home to see Sergio. And she wasn't prepared for that. All the way home, Aleana was making a mental dialogue discussing everything with Sergio. And as she unlocked the front door, Aleana thought about the fact that she had just spent thirty minutes fake talking to Sergio for him to be asleep on the floor. Aleana looked at Sergio and couldn't make out what he was doing before he went to sleep. She pushed her feet against his leg, wanting to move him or at least shake him a bit. Instead, he woke up.
"What are you doing here?" Aleana asked.
"Look, Ale, I know you're mad and I can see that and I understand, but you can't just kick me out! I don't have anywhere else to go! I can't go back to my mother's hou-"
"I mean, what are you doing sleeping on the floor." Aleana said.
"Oh, I was- I was going to take apart this couch. But I couldn't find the manual anywhere here. So I decided to look it up, but I also couldn't find it. And I guess I just fell asleep looking for it." Sergio said rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands.
"You don't take the couch apart, it's a two piece couch. To take it apart, you just need to push the two pieces away from each other." Aleana explained, walking towards her bedroom.
"Wait, Ale, where were you today? I was worried, you weren't answering your phone." Sergio said getting up.
"I was, out." Aleana responded quickly and firmly, not wanting to answer anything else.
