(Love and Not As It Seems)
Matt POV

I had put both kids to sleep and went to find Amelia. I knew she like to stand on the deck to look out onto the ocean. When she had a lot on her mind, she liked to be alone on the deck. I knew seeing Daniel was a surprise. I knew she would always love her first husband. She had been so young when she had become a widow. I knew she had been alone for ten years before she met me. I walk up to the wheel house to see if I could find her. I open the door leading to the deck "Amelia, are you out here sweetheart?" I didn't receive an answer. Maybe she had fallen asleep in our handmade hammock. I walk to the hammock and she isn't there. I check to cabin inside and she wasn't there either. I step downstairs to ask if they knew where she was. "Have you guys seen Amelia?" "She said she was going to be on the deck. She didn't say she was going anywhere else." "She isn't there." Grace stuck her head out of the bunk. "What?" "She isn't anywhere on the boat. I have checked everywhere." Eleanor leaned out of her bunk. "I think it is happening again." His eyes went wide "I have to tell the police." "They won't do anything for 48 hours. Could she be at the hospital?" "She wouldn't walk in the dark by herself." Bam patted my shoulder as he walked past me to the bathroom. I couldn't take it. She had been through so much from a very young age. It was my responsibility to protect her and the kids. "All we can do is go out as a team and look around town." I nodded my head as we made it outside. Bam, Blaine, Bear, and I were going to look around town. Gabe was staying with kids and the girls.

We all went our separate ways as we searched different parts of Hoonah. I was starting to worry.

Bam POV

I had stayed along the beach and looked around in the buildings. I knew he was going to worry; I knew how he felt. My wife had been taken from me but we had found her. We had clues that added together but here we were blind in the storm.

Amelia POV

I had woken up in a strange room. I was chained to the wall. It felt like I was in a medieval prison. "Hello, is anyone here?" I didn't get a response. There was one source of light and it was coming from the small window with bars. I stood up on shaky legs and made my way over. I could see the ocean and we were surrounded by water. Then a heavy door opened and it slammed against the wall. It was a man that I had never seen before. He was bringing me food and water. I just stared at him as he looked me up and down. "Where am I?" "Don't worry, you are still in Alaska. Not very far from your family's property." "Why am I here?" "You stole from the master and he doesn't like that. You will be taken care of accordingly." "What does that mean?" "A trial will be held for the master can decide your fate. "What is the worst that could happen?" "Death" I started breathing heavy as he walked away. "When is the trial?" "This afternoon. Someone will come to get you later to freshen up." I sat there is silence as he walked to the door and slammed it as it closed. I look at the food and ate it with my fingers as I waited for my fate.

Bear POV

We had searched for most of the night as we made our way to the boat. We could hear voices outside and we knew it was the rest of the family. Matt raced up to see if she had maybe gone to the hospital. Mom was going crazy over a new grandbaby as Noah helped Lacy. "Did Amelia come to the hospital last night?" "No, she came back to the boat with the rest of you." "We couldn't find her." Dad stepped forward "What do mean you couldn't find her?" "We went out looking but we couldn't find her. I think it is happening again." Dad looked at mom and then stepped towards him. "We can't tell the police until later. They won't do anything about it." "I think we should take everyone home and work out a plan together." I could tell he wasn't happy about that but dad was right. We made our way back to Browntown with the newest member.
