Charlotte POV
The whole family was going into town to talk to the police. We had docked in Hoonah as we made our way to the station. We decide that Matt would need to talk to them first. The chief of police was going to sit with him to choose a plan of action. Bear took my hand as we sat in the waiting room. I look over as he squeezed my hand. He didn't look at me, he stared at the floor. He tapped his foot up and down to signal that he needed to move around. Matt came out of the room as he sat next to me. "What did he say?" "He was calling search and rescue to come out. It would take them a few hours for them to get here. They are going to search as long as they can. He is given them 3 months to look for her." "Only three months?" "If she isn't found by then they pronounce her missing or dead. It will become an ongoing case. That was all he could do right now." I gave him a side hug to comfort him. We had become close since I had moved to Browntown. "Now the waiting game begins." "We all make our way to the Integrity trying to keep our heads up. We were all missing her.
Matt POV
I didn't want to break down yet. I had to be strong for my kids. I was acting as a single parent. We had made it back to Browtown as I made my way to my cabin. I had picked up Amelia favorite shirt and brought it to my chest. I bring it to my nose and it smells like her. The cabin door opened as Bam and Noah walked in. I hadn't broken down yet. I throw the shirt onto the bed and walk out to meet them. "What?" Noah was the first to speak. "We are here if you want to talk." "I'm fine." Then Bam came into the conversation. "No you are not. You haven't been you jelly self since she was taken." I closed my eyes tight at the comment. "She will be found and brought back to me." "You don't know that for sure." "MY WIFE IS MISSING AND ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS TALK ABOUT IT! SOMETHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HER AND I WASN'T THERE TO HELP HER." I stopped for a moment to catch my breath. "I feel useless because I don't know how to help. There were clues that led to where Lacy and Eleanor were, I have nothing." They patted both of my shoulders. They squeezed my shoulder to tell me that I wasn't alone. Bam then offered "Eleanor and I are taking your kids for a few days to give you some time." I nodded in thanks as they walked out. I walked back into our bedroom to bring the shirt closer to me. I finally let myself give in to the sadness and anger. I started throwing things across the room. Then I broke down and fell to the floor. I was crying as I held the shirt to me. I stayed in the same position until it was dark. I took my shoes and shirt off as I laid in bed. I finally fell asleep to the sound of my breathing and feeling of my heartbeat pulsating through my body.
Amelia POV
I was locked in the tower all day. Emily would bring me food and water but that was it. I could look out on the balcony. It was a very beautiful place. I had never seen this place before. How did we not know about this place? I was as big as a castle. I was standing on the balcony to watch the sunset. I closed my eyes as I pictured Matt and I standing on the beach in Browntown. He was holding me close. We were watching Isabella play close by and I had Nathan in my other arm. I was with my little family. I couldn't contact them. They didn't know where I was. I didn't have any protection to save me from outside, if I made a run for it. I hear the door open as man walks into the room. "The master has requested to see you." I follow him as he guided me to another room. The tall double doors were opened into a library. Books coved each shelf that came from the ceiling to the floor. "He will be in here shortly." I go a shelf to see which books he had. I have always wanted to read Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dorian Grey. Classics from 1800's England. Then I hear a door open. I turn to see Daniel as he approached me. "I have figured you verdict." "What would that be?" "You will be my wife." "I thought you didn't like women?" "I don't but I need to put on show." "What does that mean for me?" "We will have a wedding with many different celebrations that will follow. I want to prove to the other men around here that I am not gay and I can marry a woman. Then later on we will have children." "Children?" "We will tell them that you can't have children." "When people aren't here, will I just be stuck in the tower?" "No, of course not, you will be my wife and you can roam freely around the castle." "What about my husband and kids?" "You will be a memory for them." "If I do this for a year, will you let me leave in peace to go back to my family?" "I think that is a fair deal. Now, during that year you can be with anyone you want because I will." "I don't think that will be a problem with me. I will stay true to Matt." "The wedding will take place tomorrow in front of the riches people around the world. I have chosen a few dresses that you might like and the wedding will begin a sunset. Be ready." He walks toward the door and then says "You may read any of these books you want." I grabbed the three I was looking at earlier.
