Charlotte POV

I stepped outside of the main house to see if I could find him. I checked our cabin first and he was sitting on a chair in the front room. I pull another chair to sit across from him. He had his head in his hands. I put my hands on his arms and rubbed my thumbs against his skin. I kissed the top of his head as laid my forehead to the top of his head. "Do you want to talk about it?" "Hearing that story brought back memories of Anastasia. I'm scared that might happen to you." He moved his head to look at me. "I will still be here when I have this baby." "You don't know that." "I will promise you that you and I will be together for a long time. You can't get a rid of me that easily." He laughed as he kissed me. The kiss was soft and loving. His hands went around my waist to pull me closer. I pulled away as I looked at him. "I love you" "More" We hear a knock on our door. I get up to answer it and it was Rainy with Ana. "Hey sweetie" She jumped into my arms as she put them around my neck. "Night Rain" She waved as she closed the door. He stood up and came over to us. He gave her a kiss as he went to put her to bed.

Lacy POV

I had put the kids to bed that night as I joined Noah in bed. He was reading a book as I grabbed mine. My mind started to wonder as I thought about Bear. I couldn't believe I had done that to him. It was my fault that Anastasia had died. If I would have just waited for Grace, then both of them would be alive. "You have been reading the same page for the last five minutes, it must be a good page or something is wrong." "I was thinking about Anastasia. Sometimes I feel that it is my fault that she had died. Then my heart reminds me that I saved Ana life. I just wished both of them were here. I thought that I had put it to rest but I guess hearing about Lily brought it back." He took my hand. "It is not your fault that she died. Grace said you did everything that you were supposed to do. There wasn't anything that should have changed. Bear doesn't not blame you for her death. You did save Ana and it wasn't for you being there, we wouldn't have her. "I nodded my head as he kissed my hand. "Let's go to bed, we have a long day of projects tomorrow." He kissed me as we laid down and fell asleep in each other's arms.

Amelia POV

When I had looked out the door this afternoon, I could only see one walk way that led to the woods. He would use it every morning and afternoon to take a run. He had told me there was a gym on the third floor if I ever wanted to use it. He said that on the third floor were guest bedrooms and the gym. The back of the house was the servants' quarters with the kitchen downstairs in the other dungeon. I'm lying in bed reading my book when I hear a knock at the door. "Come in" Daniel walked in a I raised the cover over my chest because I didn't have a bra on. "Tomorrow, we are having a get together with a few investors that I work for. We will be eating in the dining room for lunch and then the men are going to play poker and the ladies are retiring to the tea room. Be ready on time and act happy, we are newlyweds." "Who is coming over?" "These are the families that are on the board that take care of my money. I have a banker, accountant, attorney, and a tax attorney. They will all be with their wives. Your job as the lady of the house is to take care of the ladies." "I understand and I will be ready on time." "Emily will be here to help you in the morning. Good night." He shut the door as I hear him jogging down the stairs. I put my book down as I rested my head on my pillow. I reach over to the other side of the bed. I missed sharing a bed with Matt. He would usually keep me warm in the colder months. I bring the blanket closer to me as my heart and body ached for him.

I was woken by Emily with breakfast. I sat at the table in the room as she was picking out my outfit. I take my shower as I came into the room. She had me a black dress with small straps. She paired it with diamonds earrings and a necklace. She left my hair down as my makeup was simple. We had ten minutes until lunch as she handed me my shoes, they were black pumps. I walked down the stairs as I made my way to the dining rooms. All of the guest stood for me as I walked to my seat. "Welcome Darling" A servant pulled out my chair as I sat down. Daniel was already at the other end. "Lunch is served." A servant for each person lifted the silver dome over the plate to reveal our first course. It was a garden salad with homemade dressing. Conversation was started by Daniel with an older man that looked to be in his sixties with his young wife sitting next to him. She looked that she could be in her early twenties.

All the men talk about politics and money. The women stayed silent as they sat next to their husbands. After the table had finished the dessert, we were led to the tea room as the rest of the men went into the cigar and brandy bar. A servants was there to greet us as she pulled the chair out for me. She poured the tea as each woman doctored it differently. Then a younger lady spoke to me. "How has your first few weeks of being married been?" "We are doing great; I couldn't be happier." "May I ask where you are from?" "I'm originally from South Carolina. I was born and raised in Charleston." "Where you married before?" "I was not." "You're such a beautiful girl, I'm surprised that someone hasn't snatched you up before." "I had a few different guys that I thought they might propose but they didn't." We had small talk until it was time for dinner. The women had dinner in a smaller dining room as the men continued to drink brandy and smoke cigars. Later on that night, the couples were escorted to their rooms. The men and women stayed in different rooms. Daniel had paid for prostitutes to come in for the men. I walked back to my tower as I took my shoes off and sat on the balcony. The long day had finally come to an end.

Matt POV

The search and rescue had been going for a month. "We haven't found anything that could lead us to your wife. I'm afraid we will have to pull out because we have nothing to go on." "Why, she could be out there still alive." "We can't take any more money on this. I'm sorry Mr. Brown." He left me standing on our beach as the boat pulled out of the bay. I walked back to my cabin as Isabella was playing with her toys and Nathan was a sleep. I sat in a chair to just watch them. Both of the kids looked like her. They had her hair color but my blue eyes. I needed a sign that she was still alive. I go into my room to see a picture on my pillow. She was in a dress and she was standing in a room that looked very fancy. I turn it over to see a message. "Amelia, is alive. She is 25 miles north of your town. She is locked in a tower. The owner is Daniel. You cannot tell the police anything or he will kill her and your family. I will send another picture later to you on her status." It was signed from an Emily. We finally had a lead.
