My stomach squirmed uncomfortably as I saw her standing in the blue quidditch robes, next to that annoying girl who hangs over my brother. Great, now I’ll have to keep an eye on her as the bludgers go through the chasers.

Why does the thought of her getting hurt annoy me?

Probably because that means she won’t be in the corridors anymore.

"Captain’s shake hands." The new ref, Madam Hooch, shouted over the noise.

I smirked as Lucius refused to touch a mudblood and turned to us. I rose through the air and watched the game play out beneath me, the Ravenclaw team wasn’t that good and to be honest we were kicking their arse easily. We were fifty up within minutes, and I hadn’t even caught sight of the snitch yet.

I refused to let my attention drift to where she was catching and throwing the quaffle with ease, she was really good; if she was more confident she’d be better. A flash of gold caught my eye as it hid in the shadows, I pushed harder and harder eager to get the snitch before the other player, dodging the other players as I focused on the shot of gold.

"AUBREY WATCH OUT!" the voice came from three directions; I looked up and saw the bludger hit her dead in the face, silence engulfed the once chaotic stadium as in was slow motion we watched her fall through the air, sickness spreading through my chest as she flew backwards off her broom and through the air.

No one was going to catch her in enough time, she was going to hit the ground hard, break practically every bone in her body. But she didn’t. I didn’t know I’d moved until she was crashing safely into my arms and against my chest.

"Holy shit; Black caught Aubrey." The commentator said in shock, the silence was deafening as I carried her limp body away from the pitch.

---

I bit my lip as I grabbed my broom, why did I have this urge to be more than I dared. I’d tried out as a chaser for the Ravenclaw team but only made sub, now Emma was sick and I had to take her place, it’s against Slytherin and Black’s the seeker.

"Time to face your peers." Cass smirked grabbing my wrist and pulling me out to the pitch. "It’ll be fun and if you do well you might make first team."

"I don’t wanna be on any team at the moment." I grumbled in fear, she just laughed and pulled me out to the pitch.

He was standing there opposite me, wearing the green robes as he glared out across the pitch at our team, as involuntary shiver ran through me before I stood at the end of the line, as far away from him as I could manage, thank god he’s a seeker and I won’t have to deal with him in the game.

I groaned feeling a sharp shooting pain through the left side of my head, god I hate quidditch. If I’d just listened to my mother, kept my head down and got good grades, none of this would have happened, but no. I had to try out and make Sub, they could have said no!

Shuffling hit my ears and focused, who else could be in here with me? I have no friends, well none that would come and visit me in the hospital wing.

"I still can’t believe it." the first voice whispered voice came from besides me.

"I know, it was surreal, I didn’t know they knew each other." Another voice said in the same tone.

"The last thing I knew he liked to bully her and now, he carries her in off the quidditch pitch after catching her." The first said again.

"Who?" I croaked prising my eyes open to see Cass and Megan, who had literally just jumped to their feet at my interruption, not even thinking I’d be awake.

"Regulus Black." They said in unison.

"His face didn’t crack from looking for the snitch, catching you and then carrying you up here, it was scary he wouldn’t let anyone else touch you till we got you here."

"Carried me?" I asked in shock, "Catching me?!" I tried to sit up but the pain in my head magnified from a headache to something serious. "What happened exactly?"

"You were hit in the face with a bludger and he caught you at like 50 ft, nearly lost Slytherin the game." Megan said as Cass passed me a mirror.

My reflection was something not to be impressed with, my eyes were both black, obviously from a broken nose, which looked straighter than it had previously and the reminants of a cut beneath it. "Did I break my nose?"

"Shattered your skull." Cass said with a flinch as she took the mirror away.

"Time to go now girls," Madam Pomfrey said coming over, "it’s nearly lights out."

"We’ll come in and check on you tomorrow." Cass smiled as Megan waved and they disappeared, fearing the wrath of Madam Pomfrey.

"How long have I been here?" I asked as she passed me a glass of the bone re-growth potion.

"Five days Miss Aubrey, the Black boy which brought you in hasn’t been seen since, I hope nothing was going on between the two of you." she said quietly and sympathetically.

"I’m in shock that he brought me here instead of poking me with a stick to be honest." I smiled and she cracked a smile.

"Try and get some sleep, it’s been a blessing that you’ve been out while most of your bones grew back, this will be uncomfortable."

"Thank you." I sighed taking the potion. "Goodnight Poppy." I smiled and she pursed her lips fighting a smile as she walked back to her little office.

---

Everything was quiet as I slipped out of the common room, I feel utterly disgusted at myself for doing this, but I had to see her. As before everyone was asleep, only the muffled whimpers of pain coming from Aubrey broke the peace, that potion must be some nasty stuff; every time I come she’s in pain.

I made my way silently across the ward to where the curtains were pulled around the bed which she occupied; I stepped around the quickly curtain, only to be great by her eyes filled with pain and a grimace on her face which spoke louder than words, I quickly buried the shock and smirked.

"I heard you’ve finally woken up, can’t even handle a bludger." I shook my head back and forth.

"Obviously not." She spat sitting bolt upright to glare at me, "I fucking wish I could just go to sleep! What do you want black to torture me some more because I’m sorry to say, nothing can top this."

I smirked and pushed her legs across the bed, causing her to let out a long hiss of pain, I hadn’t thought she’d hurt her legs so I snapped my eyes up to see her clutching the back of her head, "How badly does it hurt?"

"Why do you care?" she sighed going from angry to just depressed in second.

"I take care of my toy’s." I laughed and she kicked me hard in the coccyx, "But then again, if you look like that for much longer I might have to leave you alone. I only torture good looking people."

"I think you just complimented Me." she said looking over at me again, her light eyes sparkling in the candle light. "What’s your angle?"

"I like to see you suffer." I shrugged lying back against the footrest, keeping a tight hold on her feet, another well aimed kick and I would be down for a while, The Dark Lord doesn’t like mistakes, any kind of mistake.

"Drop dead." She hissed pulling back her legs to kick me again; I grimaced at her blackened eyes and the dried blood, "Like what you see?"

"No." I shrugged and it took the wind right out of her sails. "I’ve told you, I only torture good looking girls."

"You arrogant bastard." She hissed kicking out at me again. "I hate you."

"Good." I smirked and leant over her, getting close enough for her to feel my breath against her lips "Because I detest you."
