“Damn we scrub up well.” Megan smirked looking over our heads into the mirror, Harriet grinned up and I blushed not used to being complimented, even as a group. “I didn’t know you had such a tiny waist Aubrey, it’s amazing. You should get it out more.”

“It’s a little cold up here for that.” I mumbled as Cass laughed.

“Megan, Aubrey’s not a whore like you.”

“Hey, I never denied what I was.” She grinned winking at us through the mirror, “Come on else we’ll miss all the good dancing.”

When we got to the Gryffindor common room, the portrait was on the latch and the fat lady was singing happily to herself. The room was rammed full of people, I recognised everyone but they didn’t seem to recognise me as Cass, Megan and Harriet greeted people around us.

“Come on let’s dance!” Harriet shouted grabbing us and pulling us to the middle of the floor.

I moved awkwardly until I noticed no one was actually watching anyone else, they were just going for it themselves! Drinks were passed around and I felt myself loosen up and even flirt a little bit with some blonde tall guy who seemed shy.

“Hello Cassy, Moony.” Sirius Black grinned coming over, he put an arm around Cass's shoulders and kissed her cheek. “Is this who you told me about?”

“Yeah, but she won’t admit that he’s bothering her.” She said and they both looked at me like I was some naughty child, I narrowed my eyes at the both of them, meddlers.

“My brother likes to bully you?” he asked and I rolled my eyes.

“He just bothers me; it’s not as bad as it used to be.” I stated, they turned to look at each other before looking at me.

“He told me to stay out of his business, are you his business?”

“You’re annoying.” I stated glaring at him.

“Woman of few words, I like it.” he grinned, I just watched him until Cass swatted him away, the blonde guy I was talking to had disappeared sometime during the tiff.

“Sorry, but you seemed really thrown off last time Regulus knocked your books over. I thought I’d say something.”

“It’s alright Cass, I know you did it cuz you love me.” I grinned “I’m gonna head back, it’s like 2 in the morning already, you go snog Black, I know you want too.”

“Only a little.” She grinned and I slipped out of the Gryffindor common room.

The castle was peaceful in its sleep, once I got away from the Gryffindor tower anyway; all the couples had spilled outside away from the prying eyes. I leisurely walked down the stairs all the way to the foyer, happy to be alone as I floated about the castle nodding to a few ghosts as they passed. I got all the way down to the great hall before anyone spotted me and unfortunately they weren’t the people you wanted to be spotted by.

“Hello gorgeous.” Rabastan grinned grabbing some girl in a short dress as we headed out to our meeting with the Dark Lord, all of us on a kind of high. “Fancy a quick snog?” he purred and a loud smack echoed the hall way

I turned just in time to see him fall to the floor as the girl kneed his family jewels, I bit back a bark of laughter as she dusted off her hands. Instead of being able to disappear and run, Lucius caught her wrist and pressed his wand against her throat, in the light I recognised her, Aubrey.

“Shall we make an example of her, what happens when people mess with us?” he hissed tapping her jaw, I listened in disagreement as the other’s all laughed and shouted their agreement, “How would you like to meet The Dark Lord, girlie?”

“Come on Lucius, leave her alone.” I said finally, “She’s just some Ravenclaw, she has no idea what’s going on.”

“She’s your plaything isn’t she Regulus, you get to take her and have first pop. I know you’ll enjoy that.” he laughed throwing her at me; she stumbled over in her shoes second before my arms caught her waist.

“Lucius, I really don’t think this is a good idea.” I mumbled shifting her away from me, grasping her elbow firmly.

“She attacked Rabastan, she needs to be punished . . . maybe the Dark Lord will let us use her as practise.”

And like that we were swept along with the rest of the Slytherin’s, I looked down at her as we walked she didn’t look that bothered just really annoyed, she shot me a thankful glance but walked by my side, not allowing herself to be dragged. The forest darkened with the night for a few minutes before we entered the special clearing The Dark Lord standing proud in the middle.

His face darkened as he looked over at Aubrey and I, “Why, did you bring the girl?” he asked through a sneer.

“She needed to be taught a lesson. Black tried to back out, but it’s the least that she deserves; look at her, dressed like a slut in the middle of the night.” Lucius said quickly and loudly, stepping forwards away from us, expecting his reward, or lack of punishment.

I watched scared for her as The Dark Lord waved her over, without a seconds thought she stepped forwards and bowed slightly as he kissed her hand.

“How’s your mother?” he asked and I bit my cheek, fighting the laughter that wanted to bubble up.

“She’s fine, thank you cousin.” She mumbled keeping her head down.

“Black.” He ordered dropping her hand, I stepped forwards ignoring looks from everyone else, “Take Cousin Aubrey back to her common room. For common sense you’ll be spared from tonight’s punishment.”

“Of course, My Lord, thank you.” I said bowing, I snatched her hand from her side and all but ran from the clearing; more than a little worried we’d be able to hear the punishment which was sure to be doled out within a few seconds.
