As we walked back up to the castle, the cold began to seep deeper into my bones. The fear of the unknown on the way down had kept me warm, now it was just too much and I let out a big shiver rubbing my hands down my arms in an attempt to create heat.

“Dressed like that I’m surprised you didn’t actually get raped.” He sneered looking over at me, his cold eyes taking in my form.

“It’s called a party, do you know what they are?” I snapped running up the stairs to the front doors of the castle and the relative warmth, “I wasn’t planning on leaving the castle, I was on my way to bed as a matter of fact.”

I turned to step onto the stairs that led up to the Ravenclaw common room when he grabbed me by the waist and marched me down to the dungeons and where I knew the Slytherin common room lay, no one passed us as he pushed me through the common room and then on into his dormitory. Exactly the opposite of what Cousin Tom had told him too.

My traitorous heart gave a jolt as he pinned me against the solid wooden door, before sinking again in fear. No one knew I was here, with the guy who likes to see me pathetic and weak

“Who are you?” he whispered, his face inches above mine, “You’re cousin to a man with no family, you have no family yet you’re a pureblood.”

I kept my mouth shut, I didn’t want to tell him, if he knew then I’d be left vulnerable, if he knew then I’d just be another statistic on my family tree. I watched him as he ranted, his head hitting the door behind me multiple times, I fought the impulse to get closer to him, to use his warmth to eradicate the cold in my body.

“How are you related to him?” he asked finally directing a question to me.

“My mother is his cousin, they share a grandfather.” I answered and he nodded pushing himself away from me and falling on his bed, I felt the cold hit me like a slap in the face.

“You infuriate me.” he whispered sitting up again, “I hate every bit about you, but I want you.”

My mouth fell dry and my chest heaved uncomfortably, this wasn’t meant to happen. He was evil and tortured me and as much as he just admitted he hates me, it’s not just that. I wanted him too. My back was against the wall and my fingers scraped at it, praying that I wasn’t really here, I closed my eyes tight. I’ll wake up in a second and everything will be just a dream.

“Are you genuinely scared of me?” he asked laughter playing at his tone as he walked towards me. “Well that settles things; I couldn’t have a woman terrified of me.” I snapped my eyes open to glare at him. “You’re weak Aubrey.” He whispered and I snapped, I whipped my hand around and slapped his cheek hard.

“Don’t call me weak.” I hissed, pushing his chest so he took a step back. “Don’t you dare call me weak, I am anything but weak, but you wouldn’t know if I posted it under your nose!”

“Well I wouldn’t want to know if it’s about you Aubrey, you make me sick.”

“Stop stalking me then!” I shouted and he stopped and watched me, his grey eyes searing through mine until I dropped his gaze

I ran my eyes over her slim body and that dress, who would have thought being so covered, could be so appealing. “Go away.” I whispered and she left after a minute of silence, both of us staring at one another then she ran, not turning back once.

Stalk her? She really thinks I stalk her. I don’t go out of my way to see her, to knock her about in the corridors, she just happens to be there. She just happens to fill every memory of the day, from lessons to the corridors the only time I wouldn’t see her is here, but even then as soon as I closed my eyes she was here again.
