Two years later.

I gripped my wand as I paused in the doorway of the muggle bank, chaos was all around me people screaming spells being shot the smell of fear fresh in my nostrils. My mask was already secured from the mission I’d just completed and I was in my element. I was invincible, nothing could touch me and nothing did as I stalked through the crowds shooting a killing curse at the occasional muggle who tried to be a hero and attack us.

Idiots.

In the corner a lone Witch was protecting some muggles who were cowering behind her, most of them were very old or very young. She wasn’t part of the order, they were all fighting back, she was simply defending.

I stepped over a body as I made my way towards her, wanting to intimidate her into attacking me, but it was I who felt intimidated when she looked up at me. “Aubrey?”

She froze and turned her wand to me, eyebrow raised uneasily, “What?” she asked obviously hoping she hadn’t heard me call her name.

“Cousin Tom wouldn’t be very impressed with your behaviour.” I chuckled; she snapped up and stared at my eyes, the only thing visible from behind my mask.

“Black, if that’s you, I swear to god!” she shouted stamping her foot like a little child, she was much feistier than before and I quite liked it.

“Grab the girl and let’s go.” Mulciber growled pushing me into Aubrey and disappearing.

“Again?” she sighed as the people behind her looked terrified.

“Afraid so sweetheart.” I purred wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her against me.

She was soft against me, probably because she knew exactly what was going to happen, she was much more beautiful than the last time I saw her, what had once been strangely attractive were now stunning, her delicate features glowed as I looked down, despite her face being screwed up during the ghosting, it could be a bit more . . . disruptive than apparation.

She rested against my chin when I pulled us to a stop, just outside the Dark Lord’s offices. She sent me a look and rolled her eyes as Mulicber stalked forwards and pulled open the large doors, indicating to Aubrey and I immediately.

“A hostage for you master.” Mulicber smirked bowing down , I grabbed my mask and pulled it off, bowing to him also. “I told Black to bring her, he was reluctant.”

“And for a good reason, Miss Aubrey is my Cousin!” he roared raising his wand and hitting him with the crucio. “I believe I’ve tortured you once for being so stupid, and Black you were right again.”

I bowed my head down and changed my grip from her waist to her elbow, feeling that all too familiar tug. “Should I take her away my lord?”

“No, take her home with you I’ve been looking for a new base and her home will do perfectly.” He said in a slow calculating voice, I felt her tense against me. “That is alright isn’t it cousin?”

“Perfectly.” She smiled, and turned around to pinch me hard on the arm.

“Take her to remove personal items from the house Black; I don’t want her visiting whilst I am there.” He ordered, and I looked down and saw her watching me carefully.

“Like what you see?” I smirked, her eyes darkened as she grabbed my forearm roughly.

“No.” She stated and apparated to her house. “Never did.”

I walked into my perfect little cottage, the one I’d worked so damn hard to get, it's just how I wanted it and now it’s gone. I walked up the front path, Black following close behind me, “This was my piece of heaven.”

“Sorry.” He muttered shutting the door behind him, “Wow, this is really nice.”

“I know.” I grinned walking through my open plan ground floor.

I sighed and took in my sofa’s the soft light floral patterns, the amazingly soft pillows and the huge fireplace that burned bright and warm on the cold winter nights. “Feel free to eat anything; it’s only going to go to waste anyway.”

“Okay.” He shrugged following me and diving into the fridge, I bit back a dry laugh before climbing the spiral stairs to where my bedroom was waiting for me.

Once up there I looked around the room, the huge windows let in the early afternoon sunlight falling right on my bed where Henry was sitting happily snoozing. I pouted to myself as I threw open my wardrobe doors and dug through to find my old Hogwarts trunk. I knew what would happen, few people knew about the connection between me and Cousin Tom, the order would see bad things happening and see my house as being the epicentre, they would go after me first hoping to stop me and maybe get details. They wouldn’t plan on finding the Dark Lord so probably wouldn’t see those clues.

Slowly I picked through my clothes, throwing some to one side, I might as well kill two birds with one stone while I’m at it. Black came up and fell onto my bed, “I’m knackered.”

“Nice.” I snapped glaring at his feet. “You go ahead and fall asleep while I pack up my life.”

“Will do, thanks.” He said and soon enough soft snores were echoing from his chest.

I scowled and shoved my shoes into the trunk, Henry padded over and climbed onto my trunk sniffing the object on top. “We’re moving Henry, hope I can take you with me.”

He meowed again and jumped down and headed straight for the bed, “Henry, stop!” I ordered leaning over trying to grab his fluid body, but he evaded and jumped up onto the bed, I watched in amusement and a little anticipation as he walked over Black’s front and sat sack bang on his chest. “Henry, please don’t bite him.”

“WHAT THE FUCK?!” Black shouted jumping from his sleep and gripping his nose. “Oh great you’ve got a cat.”

“I actually tried to stop him.” I said honestly pulling his hands from his face to inspect his nose. “He only bit you a little bit, barely any blood.”

My fingers dragged across the stubble over his jaw before pulling my hands away and turning back to look at Henry who was curled up right where Black’s head had been seconds earlier, I could feel heat pouring from him into me I was way too close, and to make it worse he was smirking.

I sighed and went back to packing; I turned back around a few minutes later only to find him asleep again with Henry curled up on his chest this time. “Traitor.” I hissed at the cat who simply flicked his tail in response.
