Percy and Annabeth (Ft. Rachel Dare): Friendly Reminders

"So Percy," Annabeth asked as she lied down on Percy's bed in the Poseidon's cabin.

It had been a year since the war with Gaea was over, and the two camps were finally at peace. Annabeth and Percy's relationship was closer than ever - with the falling into Tartarus drama. 

"Yes?" Percy perked up at his name.

Percy had been closing his eyes, almost falling asleep - which was pretty rare now. But he had always time to entertain Annabeth and her questions. Even if it meant sparring ten minutes. 

"I heard from Rachel the other day that you kissed her."

Annabeth really wasn't mad or jealous. At least she wasn't mad at Rachel. She was mad at Percy for not telling her. She had thought that maybe after all this time, he'd finally tell her. But no. Rachel had been feeling guilty about it for a year, and told Annabeth herself.

"Well... That was... We... We weren't dating! And she kissed me! I didn't kiss... her!" 

Percy always felt that their relationship was too fragile. He knew it would last - maybe they could be the few people in the world that married their highschool sweet heart. 

"I know, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth chuckled at Percy.

"Then why did you ask it?"

"I just wanted to see your reaction. And to know the reason why you didn't have the guts to tell me."

Percy paled. Obviously he hadn't told her about it because Annabeth hated Rachel Dare - at least he knew it before Rachel became an oracle. If he dared to talk about Rachel before Annabeth and him got together, Annabeth would either ignore him, or storm off in another direction. 

"You'd get angry!" That was a genius comeback, right?

"Well, yeah. But you could've told me the truth."

Honesty was the best policy after all.

"So, no more secrets?" Annabeth asked, looking towards Percy.

But he had already dozed off. Probably because he felt way calmer that his relationship with Annabeth wouldn't get destroyed by a silly kiss which meant nothing.
