Belle sighed deeply as she was walking around the courtyard. It was night time as the moon was glowing white and the sky was adorned with millions of tiny stars. There were also some clouds, a shade of navy blue that the moon shone through, penetrating the darkness. The cool night breeze brushed past her soft skin as she continued walking. So many thoughts were going through her mind with every step she took. Memories flooded through her head of all the fond times they had leading up to him leaving to train in the Trainee Corps and joining the Survey Corps.

Belle sighed.

(If I had only known)

(It was the last walk in the rain)

(I'd keep you out for hours in the storm)

(I would hold your hand)

(Like a lifeline to my heart)

(Underneath the thunder we'd be warm)

(If I had only known)

(It was our last walk in the rain)

Belle fondly remembered how there times when thunder would happen at night. She would always run to Claudius whenever she felt she needed to be rescued. Even when she would run off in a tearful fit whenever she got upset with her mother. Even through all the teary eyed moments, Claudius was always there to dry them and stop the flow, helping to make her smile again.

(If I had only known)

(I'd never hear your voice again)

(I'd memorise each thing you ever said)

(And on those lonely nights)

(I could think of them once more)

(Keep your words alive inside my head)

(If I had only known)

(I'd never hear your voice again)

She even recalled a time back when her family had fled to live in the Trost District. Claudius made a promise to his family to take down the Titans and protect everyone dear to him. Belle knew her brother would one day become a hero. And back when he graduated from the Trainee Corps, he had chosen to join the Survey Corps as it was his dream.

(You were the treasure in my hand)

(You were the one who always stood beside me)

(So unaware I foolishly believed)

(That you would always be there)

(But then there came a day)

(And I turned my head and you slipped away)

And now her mind flashed to the day, her family received the dreaded news of Claudius gone missing in action. The words, the squad leader told her family played repeatedly in her mind like a stuck record player.

(If I had only known)

(It was my last night by your side)

(I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn)

(And when you'd smile at me)

(I would look into your eyes)

(And make sure you know my love)

(For you goes on and on)

(If I had only known)

(If I had only known)

Without warning, the sound of a twig snapping made Belle snap out of her sad state, turning and getting into a fighting stance.

"Who's out there?!" The brunette asked in a serious tone, looking for a fight.

"Tch. Who do you think?" Answered a stoic, deep but familiar voice.

Belle composed herself as she realised who it was that had followed her. "Sir."

"You shouldn't be out alone. Especially during the night, Cadet Boyer." Levi lectured. "Now get back inside to base. You might encounter Titans and thugs."

Belle nodded. "Yes, sir. My apologies, sir."

She began to follow her superior back inside the HQ before heading up to her room and got ready for bed. As she laid down under the covers, she sadly looked out the window, gazing at the stars above.

(The love I would've shown)

(If I had only known)

"Tu me manques, mon frére..."
