The next morning, Belle was awake and refreshed from last night. The only thing, she could remember before passing out in the forest was that she was saved by the titan with brown hair who slaughtered the abnormal that was about to kill her. Her mind was in a muddle as she couldn't get the images out of her mind as she got washed and dressed before heading to the mess hall.

After getting her breakfast, Belle sat down at a table. Many of her friends were happy that she recovered from last night.

"Thank all that is good that you're alright." Said Iona.

"We were so worried about you while we were tending to Claudius in the infirmary." Piped up Christa.

"Thank you for your concern." Said Belle gratefully.

As everyone started to eat, Belle couldn't help but hear whisperings from one table.

"Hey, have you seen how Boyer has been acting around the captain?"

"Her cheeks go red whenever he passes her way."

Belle turned away, not wanting to get their attention as she went back to her breakfast. Try as she might, she felt like she could hardly swallow a single bite as more rumours were being whispered.

After breakfast was done, Belle started to do her duty, making sure she was alone and that no one else was around. She couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. The cadets had discovered her hidden feelings for Levi.

Mopping the floor, Belle started to feel haunted by her sentiments. She still wanted to protect her heart and not let it stir.

(Paint one heart)

(That's been untrue)

(Paint one soul)

This was one situation that she was getting stuck in. There was no possible way to tell Levi, her feelings. It was a fear of getting hurt that was holding her back. She gripped the handle of her mop as she continued cleaning.

(There are some things that look so familiar)

(Strange what this resemblance can be)

(And now as I look in the mirror)

(I know, I know the fool you are painting is me)

If there was something that Belle feared the most, it was that if Levi would find out about the rumours and her sentiments. She felt like she wanted to lock herself in her room and never come out until who knows when.

Finishing the job, Belle looked out the window, hanging her head down, feeling ashamed of falling in love. She felt like she was lost in a cold, dark, lonely sea with no way out.

"Belle? Are you feeling alright?"

Belle turned to see Kristof, a concerned look on his face and worry evident in his eyes. She knew she could never hide her sadness from anyone, even her friend who had confided in her.

"Maybe..maybe not."

The Irish cadet walked up to her and gathered the girl in a comforting embrace.

"What seems to be troubling you?" Asked Kristof.

"It's just that..I heard people whispering rumours in the mess hall." Answered Belle.

Kristof looked shocked. "Rumours? About what? If I find whoever's behind this, I'll give him what for."

"They're saying that..I'm in love with Captain Levi."

It was true. Belle and Kristof were in the same boat when it came to falling for their respective superiors.

"Is that true?"

Belle nodded. "Yes. I have kept my sentiments for him hidden these last few months and have been until now. I haven't told him though."

"I see your point. Well maybe try and give it some time. There's a chance, he might love you back." Replied Kristof.

"You think?" Asked Belle.

"I know." Answered Kristof. "How about we go for a drink, seeing as we've done our chores and duty?"

"Okay." Belle replied, cheering up a bit as they both left for wherever they were going to spend their break
