The brightness of the morning is slowly starting to disperse across the sky. My eyelids are burning because of my lack of sleep. I personally have trouble sleeping so I usually just lay down and listen to nothing but silence which most people hate but I honestly enjoy it.
I've been through so much in the past that I enjoy the quietness while it lasts. You know before the evil drug dealers and lost drunks & druggies who don't even remember their first name come out to play.
I slide off of the bed with a frown on my face because of how exhausted I feel. I feel as if I haven't slept in years which is true. I haven't.
Being a single mother is hard even the simplest things like going to sleep aren't so simple. Therefore, I thought it'd be best for me to take a quick shower to open up my pores. I stood under the warm water and slowly I feel my energy coming back. I scrubbed the soap full loofah throughout my body and left my hair up in a bun because I just washed it yesterday.
I stepped out of the tub and stood in front of the sink where I brush my teeth and wash my face. I spread an even amount of lotion on my body and then I walked to my drawer to take out my uniform for the day. A black company shirt, leggings, and black Adidas. I put on my undergarments, deodorant, outfit and perfume. I stood over Alessa and showered her face with kisses.
"Momma?" Alessa calls out and I respond with another kiss on her cheek. She pushes her nose against mine and then sits up. She throws her arms around my neck and snuggles her face into my hair.
"Good morning, princess," I say and she sits back to show me her beautiful face. I grab her by her hands and turn my body around & place her on my back. I grab the back of her thighs and run to the bathroom. She always lets out the cutest giggles when I do this. She heals me just with her laughter and she doesn't even know it.
I let her stand on the toilet and I pass her her toothbrush with toothpaste on it.
After she brushes her teeth, I pick out her outfit for school which consists of a flannel, brown pants, and white vans. I helped her put it on and then I did both our hairs. I left my hair out in its natural waves and put hers in a messy bun with a headband.

Together we walk to the kitchen so I could prepare her some cereal. She sits the table with her bookbag on as I serve us some Lucky Charms and milk. I place it down on the table and she dug in immediately. I sat across from her and we had some small talk as we ate.
"Let's get going, buttercup," I said after I was done washing both of our bowls. I walked over to the bed and fixed it before grabbing my purse, a flannel to wear later if it gets cold and my car keys. We walked out of the apartment hand in hand and to our car. I unlock the door and help her get into her car seat. I close her door and got into the driver's seat. I put my purse down on the passenger's side and turned the music on. I put the car in reverse and pull out of the parking space.
