Two Weeks Later...

"Bye!" I wave to my boss before closing the door behind him. It is my turn to clean and lock up the place so I am the only one at the cafe. It is pin drop silent but somehow so loud at the same time, the silence is almost mocking me. I tried to clean everything as fast as I could and thankfully I succeeded. I cleaned the kitchen, counters, utensils, and every other thing that was needed. Once I finished, I had shut off all the lights and ran for dear life, slamming and locking the door behind me.

I was panting for air when I got out of there because of how fast I was trying to leave. After I had caught my breath, I began walking to my car which is parked in the parking lot. I rolled my eyes when I hear a man catcalling me & whistling at me for attention. The usual. But I didn't fear him because I'm more than capable of defending myself. Everything I've been through in the past has made me stronger... Fearless...

Since I had to close up every Tuesday I always have an encounter with a random man trying to get into my pants which isn't fun at all. I always keep my taser & pepper spray on me.

I get into my car, lock the doors, and started my junker up. I tugged on my seatbelt before pulling out of the parking lot and making my way to pick up my princess from my sister's house since on the days that I have to close my sister picks her up from her babysitter's house.

"Hey!" I call my sister when I'm on my way so Alessa will be ready and as soon as she answers I hear Alessa's sweet giggle in the background.

"Hey, boo!" Stephanie says.

"So I'm on my way to pick Alessa up. I'm so sorry for being so late it's just that I had to work overtime today." I said while making a left turn to drive up to her block.

"It's fine, boo. How far are you?" She asked.

"Two minutes. Have her ready for me! Thank you!" I hung up and drove about two more minutes and making it to her home.

"Momma!" I hear a screech in front of me and then I feel a body press against legs. I kneel down and wrap my arms around my angel.

"Hi, princess!" I say and then I pull away to give her belly a small tickle. I also give Stephanie a quick hug before grabbing Alessa's book bag tugging it up to my arm and grabbing Alessa's hand.

"Bye Steph, thank you!" We both waved.

"Bye!" I pick up Alessa and sit her down in her car seat strapping her in. I closed her door and then got into my side.

"How was your day baby?" I ask and when I turn on the car the radio came blasting on. The song Controlla by Drake started and I turned around when I hear a screech come from the back.

"My song, Momma!" She said with much excitement. I turned the radio on blast and she started dancing and singing to the chorus.

I laugh while taking out my phone to record her. I sang with her and then started driving off.

We pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex and got out. I grabbed Alessa's hand as we walked into the apartment and locked the door. I smile down at her as she runs to her corner takes off her shoes and placed her book bag on the floor neatly. Alessa sits down in front of the couch and takes out her homework. She didn't ask me for any help which made me such a proud mama.
