Rose
"Good morning, Momma!" Alessa whispers in my ear before sitting on my stomach causing me to groan and open my eyes. However, Alessa is not the only person I see. Sitting on the bed next to me is Alessandro with a paper in his hand.
"What is that?" I ask and then I notice that it is nothing other than Alessa's birth certificate.
"How long have you guys lived here?" He asks and my mouth went dry at the sound of his voice. He sounded defeated.
I sit up before leaning my back on the bed frame.
"A few months," I whisper softly. I hate being pitied but I work hard for everything I have so I can't complain.
"Why here?" His eyes were unreadable as he searched mine desperately waiting for an answer.
"It's all I can afford." I can't lie and say that this is the environment I want to continue to raise my daughter in. It isn't that easy though...
Alessa crawled into his lap as she brought her hand up to his hair and tugged on the piece that was on his forehead. My heart melted at the sight of her in her father's arms. I always imagined the day we would be reconnected with him and the day Alessa would actually be able to hug her father. Something I never really got to do...
"Wow." He whimpers and in his eyes, I could see regret and sympathy. It's weird really but I always get a vibe off of people that make me tell if they are good or not. I can also tell how people are feeling by just looking at them and studying their actions.
"Are you okay?" I ask and he nods before wrapping his arms around Alessa's small frame and hugging her to his chest.
"You're so beautiful, my baby." He whispers causing Alessa to giggle and cuddle into his arms.
I felt tears build in my eyes. I'm so happy.

It is now ten-o-clock and Alessandro has decided to take us out for breakfast. It was a sudden question but I didn't deny him because there are still a couple of things we have to talk about. Especially because it was my only day off.
Alessa and I had taken a quick shower while Alessandro went back to his house to change. I'm wearing a gray t-shirt, a green jacket, black tights, and beige booties. I left my hair out and slipped on a pair of sunglasses. I put on some perfume and grabbed my black purse. I put her birth certificate and an extra DNA test inside my purse just in case he wanted extra proof.
