I stared at her open mouthed as she said those three words to me. "Livia, you don't have to say that."
"Yes, I do, ever since that day I left, I regretted not telling you. And if I would've stayed with you like you wanted me to, I wouldn't be laying here right now."
"Baby, he could've still done it. You and I both know how he can be towards you."
"It wasn't just him this time though, he had Kaitlin with him," she said, her eyes locking with mine.
"The two of them did this to you?"
"Yeah, the last thing I remember is him throwing me into the wall, after raping me," she said, her eyes flicking away from mine, sadness filling her features.
"There's something you're not telling me isn't there?" I asked.
"Please don't be mad at me, but right before they broke in, I had gone to the doctors, and well, I found out I was pregnant."
"Was pregnant?" I asked, dread filling my heart.
She nodded, "Just over a month. The doctor said that being thrown into the wall is what did it."
My fists clenched, my anger boiling to the surface, as the realization set in that Livia had been pregnant by me and now our child was dead because of Kevin and Kaitlin. I walked out of the room, straight to Livias brother, "Go be with your sister, I've got something to take care of."
"I know you do, just remember to take your time doing it to him."
I nodded, striding out to the parking lot, and getting into my car, driving to the motel. Going to the reception desk, I asked for Kaitlin's room number, and told her that I'm her husband. The lady panicked and said, "She told me that she was with her boyfriend."
"Yeah, I'm sure, she's been cheating on me."
"Room 287," the woman said, handing me a keycard.
Muttering thanks, I strode to the room, taking the stairs two at a time, stopping in front of the door, I heard the loud moans of both Kaitlin and Kevin inside. Inserting the keycard, and once it turned green, I shouldered the door open, the rage I had been feeling earlier, boiling over, as I yanked Kevin off of Kaitlin, throwing him into the wall. "You fucking bastard, Livia was pregnant with my child. You killed my child."
"Get off me," Kevin yelled, as I sent my fist flying towards his face.
"Livia gave you a damn second chance and this is how you repay her? You fucking better stay the fuck away from her, both of you," I said, glaring at Kaitlin. At that moment, the cops came in, pulling me off of Kevin, the one said to me, "Calm down Mr. Reigns, we've got this under control."
Kevin smirked at me, until the other one spun him around, handcuffing him in the process. "We've been looking for them ever since this morning when her brother told us what happened."
"He better not get out, not after what he's done to Livia."
"How is she?" The officer asked.
"She's awake, thank god, Doctor said she has a lot of injuries."
"Go be with her, we will contact you as soon as we have them processed."
Bolting from the motel, I drove back to the hospital, upon entering the waiting room, my mom and Livias mom, Diane, started scolding me for leaving Livia like I had. "She thinks she did something wrong for you to leave," my mom said.
"She's already hurting enough, and you leaving her like that doesn't do any good for her mental state right now," Diane said.
"He's going to prison if that helps."
"Go to her, she needs you more than ever before."
I walked back to her room, inwardly groaning when I heard her sharp intakes of breath when her brother said to her, "Hey, at least your the pretty one of this family, imagine if I had to take up that role?"
"Hey, don't make her lose her breath," I said, leaning in the doorway.
"Roman," she said quietly, "where'd you go?"
"He won't bother you again, he's going to prison. But let's not talk about him, how're you feeling?"
"Eh, I've been better. Sore. And you know how much I hate hospitals."
"Yeah, I know. You'll be out soon though baby."
"Mark, can you give us some time?"
"Yeah, sure," he said, leaning forward, gently hugging Livia. She waited until he left to let her unshed tears come down her face.
"Oh Livia, baby, I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you and our baby," I said, pulling her into my chest.
Her sobs racked her body as all the grief she had, flooded her body. Holding her to me, I said, "I love you Livia, never forget that, no matter what, I will never hurt you, I will cherish every moment we share."
Her tears came faster, "Please don't leave me."
"I'll stay with you as long as I'm allowed."
We laid on the bed, just holding each other in silence., until Diane came in, when she saw us laying next to each other, she said, "Livia, I'll see if he can stay with you until they release you."
She nodded. The nurse came in, followed by Diane and mom, saying, "Livia, I talked to the doctor and since he thinks it will help you heal, he's fine with it. If there's anything you need, please let us know."
"So are you two official or what?" Diane asked.
"That's up to Livia, because I know I'd like to be."
"Yes, we are official."
"Dammit, that means I owe you money mom," Mark said, walking back into the room.
"What?" Livia asked.
"I figured you'd chicken out like you usually do. How many times did you come to me telling me that you wanted to be with Roman?"
"Shut up," she said, burying her face into my chest.
"Livia, so you wanted me all this time baby."
She tried swatting my chest, but winced in pain. "Take it easy baby. Relax."
