I sat with my brother in our parents home as he told me about his conversation with Roman. "Livia, are you even listening to me?"
"Sorry, I just miss him so much. Do you think I overreacted to what he said?"
"Hell no, the damn man is an ass. He threw me out of his house."
"Well he did tell you he didn't want to talk about it."
"Why are you defending him?"
"I'm not, I'm just stating the facts," I said as my stomach lurched.
"Livia, you ok?"
I nodded quickly, not wanting my brother to question me further. He shrugged, a hint of suspicion in his eyes.
"Well I've got to go, I have a few errands to run," I said, "I'll see you later."
Walking out to my car before my brother could protest, I hopped in, hurrying to my doctors appointment. I hadn't told anyone about what happened before Roman and I argued. I honestly missed him. Pulling into the parking lot, I got out and made my way inside. Taking the stairs, I finally got to the floor I needed to be on. Walking up to the receptionists desk, I checked in, taking the paperwork to fill out and sitting down. As I sat there waiting for the nurse to call me back, I was tapped on the shoulder. "Livia, how are you?" Kevin's mom asked.
"Fine," I replied.
"I'm so sorry what he did to you."
"Livia Frost," the nurse called.
"Sorry, I got to go."
Following the nurse to the room, she did the normal questions. "It says here, that you need to do a pregnancy test?"
"Yes," I answered.
"Ok, as soon as the doctor does your exam, she'll have you do the pregnancy test, and you should have the results within twenty four hours."
"Thank you."
She left the room, and a few minutes later the doctor came in. "Hello, Livia, how are you feeling from the injuries?"
"Better."
"Where's Roman?"
I looked down, tears starting to form.
"Livia, what happened? You two seemed like you were so in love."
"I wanted to start a family, and he doesn't think we were ready."
"Well in both aspects you both are right. You are obviously ready for a family after everything you've been through, and after all of our conversations over the years. But from what I've seen with him, he's very protective of you. And he may not be ready for a family, because he doesn't want to put you through anymore pain. No matter what that pain entails."
"What would you suggest?"
"Talk to him, without getting mad, I know that's hard. But you two have always been close. Now if I may ask, this pregnancy test you are doing, would Roman be the father?"
I nodded.

After taking the test and leaving I decided to go to Romans. Pulling into his driveway, I sat in the car for a few minutes before gathering up the courage to go to the door and knock. When he finally opened the door, his face fell. "Livia, what do you want? To slap me again?"
"I just wanted to talk to you."
"Why?" He asked, "You made it perfectly clear that we don't want the same things."
"I've really been thinking about that, and I was wrong. I'm sorry I didn't listen to you more."
I could sense the frustration in his voice when he said, "I was only looking out for you, and you got pissed off at me for trying to be there for you. Livia, you don't know how hard this has been for me to watch you go through all of this, and then you were so adamant about wanting kids, you never even gave me a chance. It was always what you wanted. You never gave a damn about what I wanted."
