Chapter 9

As we stood in front of The Supreme Ranks wall I smiled and said, "well, we finally made it!" Jet frowned and said, "yeah, but now we might be walking into a death trap."

I shrugged and said "well never know unless we go in. Oh! You guys should pretend we never knew about the man who tried to cut off our heads, okay? We should act totally normal. Like none if this stuff ever happened." Nia and Jet nodded. I smiled back at them then walked up to the gate.

We approached a guard then told him ours names and our purpose here. He then glanced down at this clipboard and nodded then motion another guard to open the huge gate. Slowly, the huge, iron gates opened as we walked in gawking at what was know as the heart of this country.

No, the streets weren't lined with gold, but it was pretty close. Everything looked to be made of marble and silver or possibly diamond. The Supreme Rank looks just like a palace. Fine architectural structure. Statues surround by fountains the squirted crystal like water and the gardening was breath taking. Honestly, we looked more out of place then a screwdriver in a pizza box.

In the distance I was a figure dashing down the stairs to The Supreme Rank building. When the figure got closer to us I realized that it was a girl. She looked around my age. Her brown hair was up in a bun with several pencils sticking out of it and she had blue glasses that sat on the tip of her nose. I suspected it was hard for her to run in that tight black skirt and indigo hug heels that matched her blouse.

The girl ran up to us carrying a clip board when she stopped to catch her breath. After she showed us how out of shape she was, the girl stood up straight and said, "my name is Margret! I'm the secretary for The Supreme Rank building and The Boss. I'm here to guide you through." We gave her a week smile when I stuck my hand out and said, "I'm Rad. And this is Jet, Wrench and-."

"Your Nia! I've heard lots of interesting stuff about you. It completely astonishing your a working human android!" Margret interrupted. Nia just gave her a weak and scared smile. "Thanks."

Before Margret could speak again I said, "excuse me, but who is this boss guy?" Margret looked at me with her blue eyes and said, "we called him The Boss. He's basically the head of everyone. And he's a pure genius too! One of the best inventors ever! Well, until we found you. Your something, Rad. You've built one of the most impossible things ever! Life."

Nia was looking very uncomfortable when I sighed and said, " its not that big of a deal. But you boss guy sounds interesting! Do we get to see him?" Margret pushed her glasses up and said, "The Boss, and yes. That's were I'm suppose to take you now."

We nodded as Margret lead us up the marble stairs to The Supreme Rank building. Inside was pretty breath taking. Ancient paintings, vases and others marble sculptures were scattered around, along with some present day technology.

Margret stopped at a large door that was lined with blue neon rode. She leaned over and pressed a button on a control pad hooked into the wall and said into the small speaker, "their here, sir. Who would like me to bring them in?" A moment of silence passed when a green light blinked on the control pad.

Margret stepped away from it and pushed open the doors, leading us in. The room was dark, except for a black desk that sat in the center of the room which stood under a white light. The desk had garble knick knacks on it, which probably cost a fortune.

Margret touched the ear piece she had on and said, "he should be coming shortly." We stood there in awkward silence when a loud voice echoed from outside the room. The doors bursted open as a man surround by man people who carrying clipboards or tablets asking him many questions.
