Chapter 6
"How much farther" Jet cried as we walked beside a large field of wheat.
The sun was high in the sky as we made our way to my brothers house. A place I never ever wanted to visit. As you can tell, my brother and I don't exactly have the best relationship.
"Just a little more, guys. His house should be down this road" I explained.
"And if it isn't?" Jet questioned.
"We're screwed" I sighed.
Jet let out a big moan a folded his arms. Nia however, was walking quietly beside Wrench and I, gazing at the scenery.
We walked for about ten minutes before we stopped my brothers house. It was a small house that sat alone on this street, surrounded by field of wheat and corn.
I smiled in satisfaction as we stepped onto my brothers green lawn. His house was neat, I have to admit. A little, cream colored house with one rocking chair sitting on the front porch. He has a small garage which was probably clean too. He's always been a neat freak.
"Well here we are" I sighed.
I climbed the stairs to his porch with my friends following, then knocked on the door. A moment passed before the door open revealing my older brother. He paused for a moment then frowned and slammed the door on us.
"Hey! What was that for, ya big jerk! We came to visit you! The least you could is open the door!" I yelled.
The door swung open and my brother said, "I'm not letting you in here! You have Jet with you, which probably means your in trouble! Why do you always come to me when your in trouble?" He pouted.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him aside while walking into his clean house. Jet, Nia and Wrench followed. "Look, we're on a trip that has absolutely nothing to do with you. All I'm asking is if we can spend the night in your basement. If your too disgusted by that can we at least sleep in your shed?" I explained.
My brother folded his arms and frowned. "Rad, what's really going on."
"Gosh, Rory! Can't you ever listen? I said we're on a trip and we want to spend the night!" I snapped.
Rory brushed his dirty blond hair back revealing his shiny, brown eyes. Lots of people said we look alike. I don't think so.
"Fine. But so help me, if you dare try to fix something or build something and explode my house, I will be mad. And you know you don't want to make me made" my brother said glaring at me. True fact. Never, ever make Rory mad.
I gave Rory a small smile and said, "I won't touch anything, okay?"
He sighed and motioned us to go downstairs.
I lead Jet, Nia and Wrench towards the stairs when Nia scrunched her nose and sneezed, causing motor oil to spew over the hard, wood floor.
"What the heck- is that motor oil?" Rory gawked.
I gave him a nervous smile and said, "what! No. Lets go Nia" I said pushing her downstairs. "Rad!" Rory snapped.
I ignored him and kept walking down the stairs. One thing I didn't want to happen was bring up the subject about Nia with Rory. He would have a heart attack if he knew I build a human android.
Good thing Rory was in a good mood that night, because he let me use his pajamas. That mood didn't last very long though. I was standing in his small kitchen with a glass of water when he walked in all ready for bed.
He walked up to me and folded his arms while giving me one if his I'm-getting-a-weird-vibe-from-you looks. "That girl isn't human, is she?"
I gave a deep sigh and said, "no. She isn't."
