" Thanks for ditching me at lunch ! " she said sarcastically
" Forget about that for a moment okay. Guess what happened when we were talking ? " I said eagerly
" What ? "
" Jai . Asked . Me . On . A . Date . "
" Oh my god ! Congrats girl !!! " Ariella said hugging me " It's about time . Give me the details ! "
" So basically he was like , would you want to go , go kart racing on Friday with me , Luke , and someone else ? "
" Awe I'm so happy for you !! "
" It's only Monday though ugh " I sighed
" Then that give you time to plan for everything . "

" Hello ? Anyone home ? Mum ? Dad ? " I said as closed the door
Hmmmmm strange , they were usually home unless they had a meeting . Why was there no answer and why was there broken glass on the floor . I ran upstairs to see a small hole in the wall . Ok what the fuck was going on ? Could there be a burglar in the house ? I didn't want to take any chances so I went to the closest broom closet and got out a base ball bat . My 14 year old brother used to play but he decided to quit .
I knocked on all the doors except for one . Caden's room . I could hear some ruffling and moving around . I felt like I was going to die . I opened the room and yelled " GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE ?!!?!!! "
" Jesus , what the fuck are you going on about ? " Caden yelled in anger
" Oh thank god it's you . I've never been so happy to see you in my entire life . "
" What are you talking about ? "
" I though there was a person trying to rob our house . "
" And where did you get that idea from ? "
" There was broken glass all over the floor and a hole in the wall . "
" Oh , that . "
" Wait what happened ? Tell me what you know . "
" Mum and dad got in a fight again ... "
" Are you kidding me ? This is the fifth time this month . How bad was it ? " I asked worried
" There was a lot of name calling and yelling and crying . "
" Where are they now ? "
" Mums at Aunt Linda's house and Dads at who knows where ."
" Caden I'm worried . What if something happens to our family . "
" Chlo , it's happened 5 times and they've fixed their problems every time , don't stress about it . "
" I'm just scared ok . "
" It's going to be alright . "
I didn't believe him . I ran into the bathroom crying . I didn't know what to do . I really didn't want my parents to get a divorce .
I opened the draw and took out a razor blade . I didn't want to do this again because I've kept clean for so long . But I couldn't take it anymore . The urge of depression took over . My depression came back a lot on some days . I got the blade and put it against my skin . It made me cry even more . I really needed to stop but it felt right . Blood was dripping everywhere . I dropped the blade and sobbed silently , so that Caden couldn't hear . After a moment of crying , I cleaned up the blood and hid the blade at the back of the draw so no one could find it . Then I wrapped my arm in toilet paper so that it would stop the blood from dripping .
I looked at myself in the mirror , disgusted . I hated everything about myself , my acne , my body , my crooked smile .
I ran to my room quietly so that Caden wouldn't notice .
People don't understand . They may think this is stupid but they don't know how it feels for someone you love to leave you . Since my grandpa died I haven't been the same . He was my best friend . I used to sit on his lap and he would tell me his stories about going to war . And he would casually sneak me strawberry candies when mum told me I've had enough .
I decided I've had enough for today , so I went to sleep without eating dinner .
I woke up feeling hung over . I had a gigantic headache so I took some aspirin . Fuck I was not ready for school . I took a long shower and brushed my teeth . I didn't feel like styling my hair so I put it in a messy bun . For an outfit I wore my green army jacket , my cross muscle tee , some black leggings , brown combat boot , and to complete the whole outfit I wore a maroon beanie .
I grabbed a granola bar , my black jansport backpack and left .
On my way to school I decided to stop by the park and visit the squirrels . I've been going to that park since I was a baby . I always played with the squirrels and fed them .
" Sorry guys no seeds today " I apologized
They looked so sad I couldn't help but feel bad for them . So I got my granola bar and started feeding them .
" Here you go guys , I'm not gonna eat it anyways "
I heard someone chuckle from behind me .
" Luke how long have you been standing here ? " I asked
" For about a while . I was just walking to school when I saw you . I didn't want to say anything because it seemed like you were enjoying yourself . "
" I'm not a weirdo if your thinking that "
" No no , I think it's sincere . A lot of girls at our school are too scared to go around animals because they thinks it's " gross " . "
" Oh thanks " I couldn't help but blush
Out of no where Luke started to stare at me with his beautiful hazel eyes . Wow I felt hypnotized . Then he started leaning in , getting closer and closer to me every second . What the hell was he doing . Was he trying to kiss me ?! I didn't want to ruin our new friendship and plus the date with Jai so I broke the silence .
" Hey shouldn't we go to school now ? It's getting late . "
" Um yeah let's go . "
