CHAPTER 9

ERIS' POV:

"One... two... three..."

A 7-years-old-Chanelle continued counting as I looked for a place to hide. We're playing hide and seek and it is her turn to find me.

I immediately went to the garage to find a place where it is hard to find me.

Tingin sa kaliwa... tingin sa kanan... and my eyes landed on the car. Bigla akong napangiti ng malaki as I entered the back door of it. May nakita naman akong black jacket sa chair kaya kinuha ko ito at itinalukbong habang nakatago ako sa may likod ng upuan ng driver's seat. I hugged my teddy bear as I went silent. I'm sure she can't find me here!

"Erthena?"

I giggled as I heard her calling my name at mas siniksik pa ang sarili ko sa likod ng upuan. Maybe right now she's scratching the back of her head? Hahaha!

"Mom! Did you see where Erthena is?" Chanelle asked. Maybe mom is outside?

"No baby. And why are you playing late at night? You should get inside now, baka andoon lang ang kapatid mo." Mom replied.

I giggled again because they don't know I am just inside the car.

"Okay." I heard Chany said.

"And baby, eat your dinner okay? We will be late tonight. May pupuntahan lang kami ng mommy niyo."

So daddy is also outside? Saan kaya sila pupunta?

After two minutes, lalabas na sana ako but the front doors open and I am not able to do anything. Bigla akong nagpanic.

Hala! Aalis pala sila mommy and daddy but I am inside this car! Lalabas na nga---

I am not able to finished what I am thinking when I heard mom spoke.

"John, we need to hurry before everything's gonna be too late."

What is she talking about?

Naramdaman kong nakaandar na ang sasakyan before dad spoke.

"I'm gonna fucking kill them first before they can even touch them!"

I suddenly frooze when I heard dad said those with an angry tone. Bigla akong nakaramdam ng takot.

Kill? Who?

My questions has been answered when we arrived. Lumabas na sila mommy and daddy and I waited for them to be gone. Sinilip ko sa bintana kong asan kami. I saw a big house outside painted with a cream color. Lumabas ako ng kotse to see more view. Now, nakatayo ako sa harap habang hawak ang teddy bear ko. The house is not that really big but it is comfortable to live with, but at this moment, all I can feel is sadness and fear. Parang may kakaibang nangyayari sa loob.

Bigla akong di makagalaw sa kinatatayuan ko as I heard a gun shot. Yes, I know that is a gun shot because since we we're five, our parents already train us to hold and release it.

Dali dali akong tumakbo papasok ng bahay. I don't know why I went inside imbes na bumalik sa kotse. Maybe because of what dad said.

My heart is beating so fast and I can feel I'm shaking. Hinawakan ko ng mahigpit ang teddybear ko.

"Ssshhh Mr. Teddy, we should be careful." I murmured as I silently went upstairs.

Natatakot ako, yes. But maybe I will be more scared kung isa sa parents ko pala ang natamaan. I heard sounds upstairs but I ignored it and continue walking. As I am walking, I saw a boy standing infront of an open room. He's shock, I can see it through his face. Dali dali akong pumunta sa kinaroroonan niya at nabigla din ako sa nakita ko. Nabitawan ko ang teddybear ko as I saw mom standing in front of a man and a woman who's lifeless lying on the floor and dad looking outside the window. They are holding a gun.
