Chapter Eleven

Unknown POV

My target climbed out of a car, accompanied by.....a female? The female smiled at him, giggling at something he said. My targets grotesque face was clearly visible, yet the female gently kissed him. Under my hood, my lips twisted in a frown. Had my target found a new killer? A partner to help him slaughter more innocents? I shifted from my hiding spot, anger boiling in my veins. The target pulled a blanket from the car's trunk, laying it out on the grass. The female sat down on the blanket, holding his hand. Both people became immersed in conversation. They occasionally stared at the black sky, lapsing into silence for a few moments. Sighing silently, I left the target, targets, and headed far away.

Jeff POV

Juliet and I sat on the blanket, talking. Her lips moved quickly as she spoke, and I thought about kissing her for the first time yesterday. She had been at work today, and wanted to do something fun. When she suggested we go stargazing, I was intrigued. The girl before me sat cross-legged, her long black hair tumbling over her shoulders. Her pale, smooth skin seemed to glow in the moonlight. Juliet stared at the stars, her slender neck exposed as her head was turned to the sky. A brief image of a knife slitting the pale throat floated across my mind. Internally swearing, I shook away the image, focusing on her sweet, calm voice. It was wonderful, suddenly leaving behind the awkward silences, yelling, and fighting behind. I wanted to be like this.......with her. I had never been with another companion and truly enjoyed their company, until now.

".......That's the Big Dipper" She says, smiling as she points to a constellation. I star at the tiny white lights that are scattered across the black sky. All I saw were lights in random places, just existing. How does a person pick out a pattern from all these tiny specs? Juliet watches me, seeing my annoyance, and takes my hand. She guides my fingers to the correct star, I like the feeling of her soft hand on mine. She explains that the Big Dipper is really the only constellation she can ever find.

"Hmmm" I mumble, letting go of her hand. She's wearing a blue tank top and jeans, staring at the sky thoughtfully. Our eyes lock, and I stare deep into her black, tranquil pools of emotion. Her cheeks grow slightly pink, and we break our gaze when a cool gust of wind rolls over the hill. Instictly wrapping my arms around her, I pull her against me. She snuggles against me, her body tense. Juliet doesn't breathe, as if I'll disappear in a second. Kissing her hair nervously, I wonder what will become of her. She isn't easily fazed, but I feel like we are at the tip of a mountain, about to com crashing down.

"Ohh Jeffy pooh!" a girlish voice exclaims from nearby trees. I jump, and Juliet looks at me funny.

"What was that?" she whispers, curious. Before I can I can respond, Sally stomps from the trees. Her curly brown hair is full of sticks and mud, much like the rest of her. Juliet watches Sally's odd, stumbling swagger with fascinated Eyes. Jack follows after her, mask firmly in place. Sally reaches us, and pokes Juliet.

"You are strange, almost like us" Sally says sweetly. I pull out a cigarette and light, taking a drag. Jack simply studies Juliet.

"You're Sally........and You're Jack" Juliet exclaims.

"Yup" Sally states proudly. She plops down on the blanket, smirking.

"I don't play games" Juliet says sternly to Sally. Sally giggles.

"I like this girl, she should join us" Sally tells me. Juliet frowns, I wrap an arm firmly around her waist, the warmth of her skin radiating through her clothes.

"No" I growl. The thought of Juliet endangering herself in the art of murder is......unpleasant. Sally giggles, I take a drag off my cigarette. I really hate Sally sometimes. Juliet hesitantly lays her head on my shoulder. Jack shuffles on his feet.
