Vanessa has never imagined she would be laying on top of giant rock—at the bottom of the oceans. She was watching a dolphin a few feet above here do some tricks and she was just amused by watching him do that. Adalyn swim towards her and Vanessa sat up on her butt. She wrapped her arms around her knees and looked at inner thighs when Adalyn joined next to her.
Adalyn touched her waist where her skin was starting to attack together. It was her tail coming in, she knew it was. She only has a week left of being normal and her tail was forming. It shouldn't take long, she could see right now her skin attaching and everytime she tried to pull them aside, not in a tug or it would hurt.
Adalyn own green and gold trail slid under her butt and she bumped her shoulder into Vanessa's before wrapping an arm around her as if she knew Vanessa needed comfort. Vanessa was scared, she was scared of change. A part of her didn't want this—but another part of her did. Though she was turned to become some super human spy, she knew this life was magical and she isn't very sure if she wants to give it up.

“Vanessa, it's going to be alright.”, Adalyn said when they walked towards Vanessa house since Adalyn didn't want to leave her alone walking home because she wanted to keep Vanessa safe, it was her duty in the queens words. Vanessa felt like it was because she didn't want her to go meet up with Rahpael.
“Did you cut a net today?”, she blurted out and she bit her bottom lip. She took a chance or she would have never asked.
“Yes.”, she said, no hesitation or anything. “We saw it catch a group of fish and we weren't going to sit aside and let them get captured. You should have felt how happy they were free to be able to live.”
“No one saw you?”, she asked.
She chuckled, “No, there was three of us and those bloody guys didn't see or notice a thing. Would you expect a mermaid?”, she asked
“I thought you would have killed them.”, she said and she felt Adalyn eyes on her. “I mean, isn't that what you do?”
“We're slowly making our way back. We can't just do it straight away. It's fun scaring them.”, she chuckled.
Vanessa sighed heavily, not helping it, “Adalyn, please, don't hurt them. Their good people, lots of people know them and they're well respected.”
“They could be royalty and we still don't care.”, Adalyn said.
Vanessa stopped and Adalyn stopped a second later, “I don't want Raphael to get hurt, Adalyn.”, she said.
“Then warn him the sea is dangerous.”, she said, taking a step forward to continue again, but Vanessa reached out and grabbed her wrist. It was unlike thing for her to do, just to grab someone like how she did but she had to get Adalyn to understand this is wrong. Adalyn looked down at her wrist surprised obviously before looking up at Vanessa.
“Raphael is my friend, just as you are Adalyn.”, she said. “And as my friend, I'm asking you not to hurt him or his family.”
“You are to turn mermaid soon, that's when you will end up betraying him anyways.”, she said and Vanessa gave her a confused look. “We'll need to continue living here until we get rid of them. You must find out every time they go out to sea and warn us. And with your powers, we can get rid of them easily.”, she said and she reminded Vanessa so much like a snake right now. Adalyn took a step towards her, only a few inches away, Vanessa's hand still wrapped around her wrist, and Vanessa had to look up at Adalyn, “You love him, don't you?”, she asked.
Vanessa eyes widen and she took a short sharp breath in, “No.”
“You're a liar.”, she said. “I know what's it like to be young, Vanessa, you don't hide it very well. Falling in love is a stupid idea, Vanessa, even with what he is.”, she hissed and Vanessa couldn't help but tighten her hand around Adalyn wrist. She was angering Vanessa and it was so unlike Vanessa to became so defenses and angry. She would usually walk away, but she ended glaring back at Adalyn who was making her very mad. “What do you think well happen after you turn fully? He'll fall in love with you in return and you two get together? Your a mermaid, he's human, it'll never work out. You'll leave him sooner or later.”
