Alex pushed me into our bedroom, "You, mister, are going to sleep." He said.

I groaned and tried to kiss him, but he swiftly dodged me.

"No, sleep. Now." He said pointing at our bed.

"But the kids," I started, pointing at the clock, which read 5:27.

"The other actor for Lin is playing tonight." He said. "Don't worry, I know how to watch kids."

I nodded my head, "I know it's just been so long since we did something together." I started, stalling my sleep, which I knew I shouldn't. I wanted to sleep, I really did.

"Tomorrow I am all yours," he said, "and the kids', obviously." He added quickly.

I sighed, "Okay." I put a lot of emphasis on the okay, making it sound like i didn't wanna go. But I did. I wanted to sleep so bad. As soon at Alex closed the door I fell into the bed, bundling myself in all of the blankets and falling asleep.

I woke up and the clock read 6:49. I felt like I had been sleeping for hours and I felt great. Yawning, I opened the door to find Alex holding Emmy on one hip. He was standing on the couch and Michael was on the wooden coffee table. All of the things that could be knocked down or broken were sitting on the kitchen table. He tossed Emmy to the chair and he squealed, giggling as she landed in the oversized armchair.

"Alexander what are you guys doing?" I asked as Michael jumped into Alex's arms from the coffee table.

"The floor is lava!" The three of them cried.

"Daddy you're in the lava!" Emmy squealed pointing at my feet. I was missing a sock. I quickly pulled of the other sock and ran over to the couch, standing on the other cushion.

Emmy carefully climbed from the chair to the coffee table. "What if we put a cushion on the ground?" I asked Alex quietly, who tossed Michael to the armchair. He nodded and stepped onto the cushion closest to the armchair. He lifted the center couch cushion and tossed it over Emmy on the coffee table to the floor.

"Look another rock!" He said happily.

Michael jumped from the armchair to the cushion on the ground.

We continued to play this game until I retired to the kitchen, getting out some zebra cakes for everyone.

"Daddy can we watch a movie?" Emmy asked me, her face covered in white frosting.

"Yeah, how about you and Michael pick a movie to watch," I said wiping her face off.

"Okay!" She said happily. She ran over to the DVD rack and helped Michael pick a movie. She ran to Alex, her little toddler legs moving fast, "Papa we picked the fishy movie!" She said holding up Finding Nemo.

He happily took the movie from her and put it into the DVD player.

By the time the movie ended, Emmy and Michael were asleep on the couch atop a snoring Alex.

I turned everything off and picked up Emmy and Michael, carrying them to their room. I tucked them both in and walked out to the living room. I stared at Alex for a moment before picking him up bridal style and carrying him to our bed.

I swear I married a four year old.
