"How could you forget something like this?" I asked him.

"I don't know! I'm just busy with the musical!" He shouted back.

"Yeah well it seems like your love for the musical that doesn't even have a cast yet is greater than the love you have for me!" I yelled.

"How can you say that?" He slammed his cup of coffee down and it shattered, sending glass and hot coffee all over the counter and floor. "Ugh!" He shook coffee off of his arm and quickly wiped the mess up. "I'm done. This argument is over and I am leaving. I'm going to be late." He said harshly, grabbing his bag and slamming the door, leaving me looking like a dumbfounded idiot in the middle of the apartment.

I swept the floors and used cleaner on the countertop where the coffee had been spilled. I silently fed Princess, and cleaned his cage. Sighing, I pulled Princess out of his cage and put him on the floor. I sat down cross legged and watched him try to eat the grape tomatoes I put on the floor. I smiled at the sight of my four legged friend. Suddenly my phone rang and Princess' head went into her shell. I got up and crossed the room, checking the number.

It was Peggy. "Hey Peggy," I said quietly into the phone.

I was answered with Peggy's soft voice. "Hey John, are we still on for our meeting?" She asked.

"Yeah I'll be there." I replied.

"And Alex right?" She asked eagerly.

"I don't know." I said.

"Why not?" She sounded frustrated, "I'm due in four weeks."

"Peggy don't get mad at me," I looked back at Princess, who was making his way across the floor to me, very slowly. The tomatoes were gone.

"I know I'm just nervous," she said.

"Believe me, I am too, Alex on the other hand, is more worried about his musical."

"What?" Peggy sounded furious, "He's not coming because of a musical? He has a whole team of people working on it! He can take two hours to see the woman carrying his baby!" She yelled. "Anyway," her voice was suddenly calm again, "Do you guys have the nursery set up?"

"Yeah, we have a crib in the corner of our bedroom, and a changing table." I said.

"You don't have a room for the baby?" She asked.

"We don't have the space, or the money to move again." I said.

"Yeah I guess, but that means no sex while the baby is around, you realize that right?"

"Ugh, I know. But it's not like we're having sex anyway." I said grumpily.

"Gross," she said. "Is he really that obsessed with this musical?"

I just sighed in response.

"I see," she said. "Well I gotta go, I'll see you in a little while."

"Bye," I said quietly.

"Bye." She said cheerfully.
