I want to love you. But if it's not right, what can I do?"

"Scott please just stop!" Mitch screamed as tears ran down his cheeks. Scott threw another flower vase at the wall and it shattered.

Mitch let out another heart wrenching sob as Scott finally calmed down and sat down on the couch, breathing heavily. "I'm sorry, Mitch." Scott whispered, his head in his hands.

Mitch wiped his eyes and slowly moved to sit down by Scott, leaving about a foot or two in between them. "I want to go back to the way we used to be." Mitch said, primarily to himself. Scott turned to face him, tears in his eyes. "Me too."

"This isn't going to work tonight. I'm staying at Kirstie's." Mitch whispered, getting up and grabbing his jacket. He grabbed his phone and walked out the door. Scott didn't budge once.

Once Scott heard the sound of Mitch's car pulling out of the garage, he did the first thing that came to mind. He needed to talk to someone. So, he called over his friend Sean for advice.

"It's not your fault, honey." Kirstin said, rubbing Mitch's back as he cried into her chest.

"Y-Yes it is. I'm the one w-who made him m-mad!" Mitch cried as he gripped Kirstin's shirt like it was a lifeline.

"What were you fighting about this time, Mitch?" Kirstin said as she pulled Mitch back to look into her eyes.

Mitch looked up and said with a shaking voice: "I... I came home l-late again... H-he gets mad when I don't come home on t-time. He thinks that I-I'm..." Mitch took a deep breath as tears refilled his eyes. "He thinks that I'm cheating on him. I swear I'm not!!!" Mitch screamed as he started weeping again. Kirstin shushed him.

"I told him that I'm just w-working late, b-but he won't believe me! Why won't he believe me?!" Mitch screamed as he stood up, suddenly mad.

"Babe sit down. You need to chill." Kirstin said, grabbing his arm, but Mitch yanked his arm away, ignoring her.

"Does he really think I would do that?! Just... Betray his trust like that!?" Mitch was thinking out loud as he paced Kirstin's living room. Kirstin was telling Mitch to sit down, but Mitch tuned her out. Eventually Kirstin had enough of watching Mitch tear himself down and grabbed him. "Honey calm down. Just sleep tonight and you can go see him tomorrow morning if you want."

Scott woke up in his bed, groaning. He grabbed his phone on his nightstand and checked the time. 9:48 AM. Scott's heart stopped beating as he heard shuffling behind him, and felt an arm wrap around his waist. Oh no. Please don't tell me...

Scott turned around and his breath caught in his throat as he saw a familiar face. Sean. His face drained all of its color as he shook his friend. "Wake up!"

Sean woke up and had the same reaction as Scott. "What the hell happened last night, Sean?!" Scott yelled. Had he really just cheated on Mitch? He couldn't have.

"Did we..." Sean prompted with wide eyes.

"I-I think so..." Scott said, his head in his hands. "Mitch is going to leave for good this time." Scott whispered as tears filled his eyes. Mitch always came home in the mornings whenever they fought. He always did. It was one of the things he loved about him. But now, he never wanted Mitch to come home. Scott couldn't look him in the eye after what happened between him and Sean.

Unfortunately for Scott, he heard the doorbell go off. He stood and walked over to the door slowly and looked through the peephole, praying that it wasn't Mitch.

It was.

Scott let a tear fall and opened the door. "Hey..."

"Hey..." Mitch said. These mornings were always the awkwardest.

Mitch looked over Scott in disbelief. "I-is that a hickey?" Mitch asked, pointing at a mark on Scott's neck, his eyes wide.

No point of lying. "Y-yes. It is. I'm so sorry Mitch..." Scott said as he looked up to meet Mitch's eyes filled with betrayal. Mitch's once angry eyes filled with tears and sadness. "H-how could you?" Mitch asked as he broke down. Scott reached forward to hug him, but Mitch flinched away. "No! Don't touch me! I don't want him on me."

Mitch looked over Scott's shoulder to see Sean watching from the hallway. He pushed past Scott and walked up to Sean. "Why?!" He screamed as he slapped Sean across the face, then walking into Scott and his once shared bedroom. He grabbed a suitcase and started packing everything he could see that was his.

Scott ran into the room and grabbed the suitcase from him. "'Mitchie please stay! Please! It'll never happen again I promise!" Scott said as tears rushed down his face. Mitch grabbed the suitcase back and rushed out of the room.

He reached the front door and grabbed the handle before Scott turned him around. He looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please..." He whispered.

Mitch looked into his eyes and leaned in, connecting their lips softly. They held the kiss until they couldn't breathe, both knowing it would be the last.

"I'm sorry..." Mitch whispered as he pulled away and opened the door. Scott watched with wide eyes.

"I love you, Scott."
"I-I love you, too."

And he was gone.
