I had this idea for a while now, so I'm gonna do it :)
"Just make it snow in California, I''ll even settle for rain. Don't want him to go tomorrow morning, give me something to make him stay."
-Snow in California by: Ariana Grande *This story is set on the day before and the day of Valentine's Day :)*

Scott turned off the TV and sat up. It was 7:30 PM but he had a flight at 5 AM the following morning.
"What are you doing?" Mitch asked, yawning.
"I'm going to bed. Remember my flight in the morning?"'Scott said, starting to walk towards his and Mitch's shared bedroom. Mitch followed.
"Of course I remember..." Mitch mumbled.
"What was that, love?" Scott said, turning around to face Mitch.
"Nothing." Mitch sighed. "I'm just sad that you're leaving tomorrow. I'm excited for you, but I'm just really sad." Mitch sad, looking down.
Scott stepped forward to envelop Mitch into his arms. "I know, baby. I'm so-"
"Don't say that, Scott," Mitch said. "You're getting what you want- a solo career! Don't feel bad for chasing your dreams." Mitch said with a smile. He was truly happy for Scott, he wished that he didn't have to fly away, though.
Scott smiled. "Okay. I'm going to bed. You coming?"
Mitch nodded. "I'll be there in a few."
He walked towards the living room as Scott disappeared into the bedroom. Mitch walked towards the window and sat down on his knees and did something he never thought he would do. He prayed.
"Okay, um... Hi, God. So... I don't know if you're listening to me, but if you are, I just want to ask you something..." Mitch closed his eyes. "Can you please find some way for Scott to stay here tomorrow? I really love him but he's flying away tomorrow... Basically what I'm asking is... Can you please make it snow tomorrow? Please? I'll even be okay with rain. Just please, don't let him go tomorrow." Mitch finished tears in his eyes. He sat up and walked towards his and Scott's room.
THE NEXT MORNING- VALENTINES DAY (1:00 AM)
Scott woke up to the sound of his alarm. He groaned and rolled over to face Mitch. He smiled as the soft snores came from the man that he loved so much. Scott leaned over and softly stroked Mitch's hair. Mitch felt the gesture and slowly opened his eyes to see Scott staring lovingly at him. "Good morning, baby."
"Good morning, Scott." Mitch smiled back towards Scott and eventually connected the space between them. Their lips moved perfectly in sync. It wasn't rough or rushed, just pure love. They pulled away, resting their foreheads again each other's, savoring the moment.
"Happy Valentine's Day, love." Scott whispered.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Scott." Mitch whispered back. "I love you."
"I love you too." Scott smiled and connected their lips once again.
"I have to go get ready." Scott said, pulling back.
Suddenly, Mitch jumped up and ran to the window. He pulled back the curtains, hoping to see a blanket of white on the ground.
There was no blanket of white.
Mitch frowned, walking away slowly, leaving a confused Scott.
"What was that for?" Scott asked. "Why are you upset?"
"No reason," Mitch said, faking a smile. "I'll make you breakfast."
Scott smiled and started to get dressed as Mitch walked towards the kitchen. As soon as Scott was out of eyesight, Mitch lost it. He sunk down to the floor and sobbed. He couldn't let Scott leave, he needed Scott. But, it was too late now. Once his sobs turned into soft hiccups, he sat up and wiped his eyes. He started making breakfast.
Scott walked in the room as Mitch tossed the eggs into the pan. Mitch didn't hear Scott, so when Scott sneaked his arms around his waist, Mitch jumped, causing the older man to chuckle.
"You scared me half to death!" Mitch shrieked and Scott rested his chin on Mitch's shoulder. Mitch turned his head to kiss Scott on the cheek. "I love you." Mitch whispered into Scott's ear.
"I love you too, baby. But I also really love food so could you maybe get it done?" Scott said, making Mitch turn his attention to the egg he was making.
After breakfast, Scott piled all of his pre-packed stuff into the car. Mitch got into the passenger's seat, and Scott climbed into the driver's seat.
The drive to the airport was quiet, not a word was said.
Then the time came to say farewell.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye..." Scott said as he threw his luggage over his shoulder.
Mitch ran into Scott's arms, loving the feeling of his boyfriend's arms around his waist. "I'm gonna miss you so much..." Mitch said, letting a few tears slip. "But I'm so happy for you."
"I'll miss you too, Mitchie. I promise to call you every night. We'll make this work, I promise." Scott said, pulling away and looking into the brunette's eyes, wiping his tears away.
"Flight 23 to New York is now boarding!" Was heard through the speakers.
     Scott sighed. "That's my flight."
"Okay... I love you so much." Mitch said and hugged Scott one last time.
Scott hugged back. "I love you too. Always have, always will."
"Last call for flight 23 to New York!"
"Scott pulled back and kissed Mitch. Mitch kissed back, enjoying the feeling of the blonde's lips against his.
"Bye, Scott." Mitch said, softly smiling.
"Bye, Mitch." Scott said, walking towards his plane.

What Mitch didn't know, is that that would be the last time he would ever say goodbye to Scott.

20 minutes into Scott's flight, it did start to snow. Soft at first, then harder and harder. Eventually, the once soft snow turned into a huge storm.
Rain poured from the skies, thunder and lightning rumbled through the air.
Unfortunately, lightning struck Scott's plane, killing the power.
The plane thrashed through the air, landing in a body of water.
     There were 7 survivors.
Scott was not one of them.

When Mitch got the call that Scott had died, he lost it. He threw the biggest tantrum he ever could. He screamed, he cried, he stopped doing everything. Stopped eating, stopped sleeping, he wouldn't do anything.

Be careful what you wish for. Anything can happen.
