I made sure that my dress and cardigan were straightened and ran a hand through my hair once more. As I heard the doorbell ring, I checked my appearance one last time as I heard Danny sigh for the hundredth time.

"Danny! You look fine!"

Somebody please inform me as to why he is in my apartment, acting as if he is my hired fashionista.

As I opened the door, I was greeted by the handsome face of Alex; and let me tell you ladies, he looked mighty fine in a white dress shirt and grey jeans. He greeted me with a smile and once over. I was wearing a simple red dress and pink mango cardigan and strapped wedges.

"You look really nice." he said, with approving eyes.

"Thank you and same to you."

"Are you all set to go?" he asked and I nodded.

Danny appeared out of thin air. "Go get 'em tiger" he said, lightly smacking my butt out of sight where Alex couldn't see. "Take real good care of her" and literally shoved me out the house.

As the silence pressed on while Alex and I walked, I saw it fit to apologize for the appearance of Danny in my apartment. What does it look like going on a date with a guy and having one at your apartment?

"That was my friend you met back there. I apo--"

Alex took hold of my hand and squeezed reassuringly. "It's fine YD. As long as he's a friend."

"So where are we going?" I asked.

"I can't really say it's a secret but you'll find out when we get there. I think you'll like it though."

We walked for at least five more minutes when I passed this familiar green building. What's up with this part of town having so many green buildings?

Sooner or later, there was the same nagging feeling that hasn't been present in such a long time and I think I finally knew what was causing it. It was that building.

The church building.

"Oh."

Alex looked worried. "Is that a good oh or a bad oh? I know it's not the typical place to take someone on a date but I thought the concert that they are having was a good idea. Oh my God. Are you not religious? I am so sorry. I never thought about that. Do you want to go somewhere else? I don't want you to feel as if you HAVE to even though you don't want to. I mean, you're not obligated. There's another place that we can go."

It took me awhile to answer. I knew that I should have this feeling of being uninvited but I didn't. The building itself looked really warm and welcoming. Why in the world does it look that way to an ex-stripper?

I slowly shook my head. While my feelings were considerably jumbled and I also felt a little uncomfortable, I genuinely wanted to stay. "It's fine Al. What type of concert is it?"

He scratched the back of his neck. "Uh, gospel?" and that caused me chuckled as we headed in.
