Her beautiful curved body is swaying with mine, moving to the music. I keep humming the tune, trying to calm her fears and keep her out of focus. When she gets thinking too much that's when I might need to ice my toes. Before long she starts to get tired, but she wants another glass, so I offer to buy. Tonight is definitely one I won't forget.

After another drink, I begin to feel the tips of tipsy; but I was far from drunk, let alone wasted. Matt had finished his beer and was on his second too, but he could hold a lot more than me. We were getting personal now, talking about our lives and so on.
"So, what's the deal with the shades?" He finally brings up, which I have been expecting.
"Being blind, I depend on my hands and ears. My hearing is drastic compared to average."
"Oh really?" He teases.
"I can hear the tease and the dash of lie in your voice." I nod over to the couple in the room, not exactly knowing where they are physically, but I can hear where their voices are coming from, "that guy is trying to buy her a drink." I pause, lowering my voice, "the guy behind us just lost his wife."
"How do you know that?" Disbelief highlights his voice.
"He's been talking to the bar tender." Matt chuckles.
"You're pretty special, Grace." He takes another drink from his bottle.
"It takes a lot of work to be special." I roll my finger around the rim of my empty glass.
"I'm listening." He makes me smile, and I face him.
"I'm fragile when it comes to my eyes. I have been independent my entire life, but my eyes cause me to depend on others, but I don't want to be a burden on someone other than myself." I take a deep breath and allow my words to come out slower, "I'm vulnerable when it comes to my eyes."
"I think eyes are the most beautiful figure on a human being. Even on animals too, but in this instance you're a human." I smile, pulling my fly-aways from my bun behind my ear. "I love to look into a persons eyes. My mothers was my favorite. Even though she could not see me, I saw so much pain and trouble in her eyes. She had the rolling ones, so it was hard to look at them for too long." I notice the joking tenderness in his voice. I laugh lightly.
"That's what I'm greatful for; at least mine stay still." I look over in his direction, a smile on my lips.
"I promise I will not pressure you. When you decide to show me your eyes, I will be there to soak in the beauty." He takes my hand and adds to make me smile. "Or to laugh." I gently push his shoulder and he chuckles.
"Tell me more about you, Matt Davidson. I've said a lot about myself; now it's your turn." The tables turns and he sighs.
"Maybe another time." He chugs the rest of his bottle.
"Family is a tough topic for both of us, huh?" I gently push his arm.
"Yeah... I guess you can say that."
"Sorry to interrupt, but we're about to shut down for the night." The bar tender informs us.
"Alright, thanks man."
"No problem Matthew." Their hands slap against one another.
"Matthew?" I repeat and he laughs nervously. "Matthew Davidson... Matthew." I keep repeating.
"Yeah... I prefer Matt."
"Fine, but I'll call you 'Matthew', Matthew, when you're in trouble." I smirk evily.
"You predicting I'm going to be in trouble a lot?" He smarts off.
"Have you not met yourself?" I stand up, as I take his arm. We both leave that place with laughter following us out.
"Ready for me to take you home yet?" Matt helps me into his car, which I found out was a truck....
"No." I snicker, honestly not wanting to be alone, especially at home.
"Well, it's a little after midnight; nothing is open anymore." Matt makes an obvious point.
"We don't need anything to be open." I comment, making him even more confused.
"Come again?"
"Just drive!" I giggle, shutting the door and making him laugh.
"Drive where?" That one is thrown in when he joins me in the truck.
"Lucky you, you have a truck; drive until no city lights are noticeable in the sky. Then we'll sit in the truck bed and go from there."
"Just go from there? Wait, are we both just going to ditch our jobs tomorrow?"
"Good question; yes!" I giggle and he takes off. "It must sound crazy, but I love the night air! Anything to do with outside, I love!" I roll down his car window, after finding the manual lever. Once I got it all the way down, I sat in my knees and stuck my head out the window. I pull the band out of my hair, allowing it to fly wild in the wind. As soon as Matt gives me the clear of "out of the city now", I start hollering and yelling into the night air. The feeling of the wind in my face feels wonderful. With the little amount of alcohol in my system it almost made me forget that I couldn't see a thing!
"You're going to get me pulled over!" I barely hear Matt tease.
"Isn't this amazing!?" I yell, taking off my glasses. I close my eyes, allowing the wind to blow across my useless eyelids. I pull my arms out into the air, almost feeling as if I were free! Once Matt starts to slow down I slide back in, placing my glasses back around my eyes. "I just love it!" I giggle, feeling excited. When the truck shuts off I get out and slowly climb into the back. Not too long after that Matt joins my side. With this much pumped Ecstasy I naturally grab his hand once he sits next to me.
"When we wake up, just remember this was your idea." Matt murmurs, showing how tired he was. I start to join him, my eyes starting to droop and my fingers stop twisting and turning his. I soak in the warmth from his body next to me, keeping us both warm in the summer night air. You can hear the crickets and birds all around us, but I start to hear Matt's little snores once again. I feel Matt's hand softly dragging against my shoulder skin and into my hair. The feeling was helping the whole sleep thing, which I wasn't having any problems with. I didn't exactly know how I was going to react to waking up in the bed of his truck, but at this moment I didn't care. The scent of Matts cologne fills the air. Just falling asleep next to his warm, steady moving body was making me feel safe and free. Who cares about the morning!
