Episode 8 - Venom

"Bane your up next!" a scruffy looking man named Rico announced. Bane participated in a swift workout with his best friend and fellow Gotham High student, Waylon Jones. "You nervous?" Waylon asked, a grin started to form on his face. Bane smirked.

"Not at all, I've got Venom on my side!" Bane responded. A few weeks ago Bane had been injecting himself with a dangerous and lethal drug known as Venom, it gave him incredible enhanced strength but also came with a serious temper.

Everyone cheered as Bane entered the boxing ring. Bane was facing a stocky muscular man who went by the name of Drake Manson. Bane smirked as he felt the chemicals inside him begin to spread, giving his body increased strength. "GO!" Rico demanded.

Drake was first to attack. Bane swiftly sidestepped out of the way before clasping onto Drake's face and plunging it to the floor. Everyone cheered as Drake screeched in pain. "You son of a bitch!" Drake shrieked before rising to his feet only to be hit in the face by an uppercut. Massive amounts of blood started to emerge from Drake's face, spilling onto the floor. Bane kneed him in the groin and punched him once more. "Woo!" Waylon cheered. Suddenly as Bane began aggressively hitting Drake again the door to the boxing arena swung open. Commissioner Gordon and several other officers including Harvey Bullock and Renee Montoya.

Gordon motioned his gun towards the boxers and drinkers. "Freeze! This whole place is under arrest!" Jim yelled, closing in on everyone.

"SCATTER OUT!" Rico yelled. Suddenly everyone started screaming and started to run for their lives. Renee and Bullock chased after Rico and his gang whilst Gordon started shooting aimlessly at the rest of the arena. A masked Bane shoved Drake out of the way and sprinted towards the exit with Waylon in tow.

"Look, here comes Bruce Wayne!" A member of the public shrieked. Harvey Dent, Barbara Gordon and Vicki Vale were accompanying Bruce on his way to school. Every morning someone yelled Bruce's name, either because they envied him, or because they hated him. "Can't we have one day walking to school without someone yelling your name?!" Vicki asked rhetorically. Bruce placed his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. "I'm sorry Vic, I know it must be hard" Bruce responded.

"No it's OK. Besides, it's not your fault your a famous billionaire and heir to Wayne Enterprises is it! Sometimes you get the exact amount of attention that Batman gets!" Vicki replied. Bruce kissed her on the cheek before waving at the young girl who called his name.

Bruce, Vicki, Barbara and Harvey quickly ran into Gotham High before Professor Kirk Langstrom closed the gates.

Many students ran past the group, hurrying to get to lesson. Bane was the first person Bruce noticed. Bane shoved past every student in his way and began punching the lockers, ripping them off even, launching them at teachers and students alike. "What the hell is going on?!" Barbara shrieked.

"Beats me, but it's better than going to class!" Harvey responded.

Bane continued to cause havoc, this time grabbing the students and shoving them through windows! Walls even! Bane spotted the gorgeous Selina Kyle and set her as his next victim. "Hey bitch! Wanna piece of me?!" Bane asked, he sprinted towards Selina before seeing her be dragged away by Bruce Wayne in an attempt to rescue her. "What's gotten into him?!" Bruce asked, he and Selina had made it to the janitor's closet.

"It's venom" Selina said.

"Yeah no kidding!" Bruce shrieked in response. His heart was racing so fast.

"No I'm serious! Bane's been taking this drug to enhance his strength for these boxing matches! Except it has a side effect! It turns him into a loon!" Selina explained.

Bruce knew that Bane was going to cause more harm than good, in fact Bruce wasn't even sure whether Batman was even capable of stopping someone with superhuman strength! "When is his next fight?" Bruce asked.

"Tomorrow night! I heard that Commissioner Gordon's going there again to arrest him" Selina replied.

Bruce sighed.

"Are you sure you want to do this Master Bruce?" Alfred asked, not quite sure whether his employer and most trusted friend was prepared. "I'm sure Alfred!" Bruce responded as he changed into the Batman.

"I know but, you've never faced anyone with super strength, I'm not sure if your ready yet!" Alfred responded. He was so anxious. Bruce sighed. The young hero came out of his bedroom and hugged Alfred. "Don't worry about me Alfred, I'll be fine! Trust me".

Batman prowled the rooftops of Gotham City, stalking the car that contained; Bane and Waylon Jones. Batman searched for his grapple gun and used it to swing himself down to boxing arena where Bane entered. "Ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we have super soldier Bane performing for you in his biggest fight yet!" Rico announced, resuming his position as the host. Everyone cheered. Batman stared through the bar window as he noticed Bane prepare for his fight.

This time Bane was first to attack. Bane threw his opponent in the air without a struggle and then propelled his own body in the air for a smack down. Bane's opponent crashed to the floor, blood spilled out of his body, his back had been broken and he was now unconscious. "OH MY GOD!" Batman yelled. Bruce glided towards the arena and crashed through the windows. "It's that Batman guy!" Someone yelled.

"That's enough Bane!" Batman snapped. Bruce launched several batarangs at the venom addicted brute, resulting in no harmful effect. "That all you got? I thought you were supposed to be Gotham's new hero?!" Bane responded. The larger bruiser ferociously groped onto a round table and launched it towards Batman, the hero jumped in the air and managed to dodge the first table but couldn't stop the second, Bruce landed with a thud as he crashed onto the floor.

Bane ran over to Batman but was stopped by Waylon. "Don't you think that's enough?" Waylon asked. Bane ignored him and launched his friend to the other side of the arena. Suddenly Police commissioner Jim Gordon and fellow police officers, Harvey Bullock and Renee Montoya came piling into the arena with their guns raised in the air. "Fire!" Jim yelled. All three officers pulled the triggers on their guns, releasing a ray of bullets which bounced off of the venom using boxer.

"What the hell?! He just dodged bullets!" Renee said, seeming confused about the situation. Bane focused his attention on the officers. "Bane No!" Batman yelled. Bruce front flipped towards Bane and roundhouse kicked him round his face, braking his jaw. Bruce then dodged Bane's punch and head butted him, causing him to stumble back. Batman quickly fumbled around in his utility belt and found a small black device which he quickly pressed, causing a sonic wave to flood Bane's ears, knocking him to the ground. Bruce gave him one final kick and let Renee and Harvey arrest him, successfully taking him to Arkham Asylum.

Bruce was about to turn away before Gordon stopped him. "Batman wait!" Gordon asked. Bruce stopped. Batman turned around. "What is it Commissioner?" He asked.

"Who are you?" Jim asked in response. Batman sighed.

"You know I can't answer that". This time Jim was the one to sigh.

"Look, at first all I cared about was that you were beating me and my colleagues at rounding up people like Bane, but now I realise you do a lot of good too. If there's anything that you need help with or anything I can do to get people off your back, just ask" and with that Jim prepared to walk away.

Batman mulled his proposition over. "Commissioner wait! Thank you. That goes for you too! If their's something you can't handle, anything at all, just ask! I'll be happy to assist. Gotham needs protecting Commissioner and I don't think we can do it alone". Gordon smiled and then suddenly, Bruce disappeared.
