Episode 13: Question

A/N: Hey guys, sorry I've been a bit MIA but I'm hoping that this update makes up for it! Please vote, comment and read!

Renee Montoya had always been an inquisitve person, and for years she had been operating in secret as the masked detective, Question. Renee had no superpowers like the Metahumans in Gotham City but she did have limited fighting skills due to her alias as a police officer and her obtainment of a gun.

Just like Commissioner Gordon, Renee too had been trying to uncover the identity of the vigilante, Batman, but she had come to a dead end. Renee and the rest of the GCPD had been going the wrong way about things, instead of uncovering the Batman they should find out who knows who he is, he must of confided in somebody, anybody. Renee would find out, hopefully as a lone ranger rather than as apart of the Gotham City Police Department.

The only downside to her investigation was the constant interruption of her partner, Harvey Bullock. Captain Sarah Essen had partnered her with Bullock about six months ago, it made Renee's life as the Question more risky.

She would learn to avoid that though, in time.

Bruce Wayne scrolled through a file of different documents on what he liked to call 'The Batcomputer'. Bruce had only recently finished updating the the furniture in the batcave and was now completely satisfied. Alfred thought it looked a little too modern but adapted to it nonetheless.

"I still can't find anything Alfred" Bruce said, feeling the most inquisitve he had in a long time.

"You will find something eventually master Bruce" Alfred responded. Bruce exited the batcave and made his way to Gotham High.

Once Bruce had successfully arrived he came across Barbara Gordon and Harvey Dent.

"Hey Bruce, Barb and I were wondering when you'd show up" Harvey said, shaking hands with Bruce.

Bruce apologised. "Come on guys we better get to class, the bell's gonna go any second" Barbara stated, ushering her male friends to dash to class. Once the three students had reached their classroom they were welcomed by Professor Kirk Langstrom who ushered the rest of the students in.

"Come on Harls, let's get a seat, Selina you coming?" Pamela Isley asked, putting her's and Harley's belongings on the desk. Selina Kyle couldn't help but stare cautiously at Bruce.

"Yeah sure" She responded, taking a seat.

Jay Napier, Waylon Jones and Edward Nygma took seats at the back of the classroom whilst Victor Fries sat alongside Oswald Cobblepot. Bruce, Barbara and Harvey took a seat together whilst Vicki Vale sat next to Nora French, Victor's crush.

"Good morning class---" Professor Langstrom was interrupted by Bruce's phone ringing.

It was Commissioner Gordon. "Sorry I need to take this" Bruce said, rushing out of the classroom and into the Iceberg Lounge before putting on his Batman voice.

"Commissioner".

"Hello Batman. I looked into Professor Strange for you and he's been having these secret meetings at the old Sionis Steel Mill, would you like for me to check out?" Gordon asked.

"No thank you Commissioner, I can take it from here, but rest assured I will fill you in after, I'm simply doing an observation for now" Bruce explained, and with that he ended the phone call.

Batman descended from the rooftops in one giant leap and approached the Sionis Steel Mill, an abandoned building owned by Roman Sionis's parents. Batman approached the doors and used a bat shape lockpick to get in without arousing suspicions.

Once Batman had successfully entered the building he noticed multiple doors and exits, leading to a whole range of rooms and corridors. Bruce descended down a corridor and turned left, in an abrupt movement he launched a batarang at an approaching target. "Who are you?!" Batman questioned, approaching the seemingly faceless female.

"Batman, is that you?" the female asked. Bruce nodded.

"It's not what you think, I'm The Question, you can't tell anyone but I'm Renee Montoya, from the GCPD, I found out the same information as you and decided to look it up, I want to know what's going on inside this City, I have to know" Renee explained.

Bruce was confused yet thrilled at the same time, he had never met another vigilante before, they were all villains or civillians.

ten minutes later both Renee and Bruce were walking side by side down the corridors of the Mill and came across two large golden doors. "What do you think?" Bruce asked.

"It's got to be an entrance to somewhere, can you get in?".

Bruce didn't respond, instead he attatched a small black device on the doors and poof! the doors exploded into smitherines.

Bruce and Renee made their way inside where they came across tunnels, and voices could be heard. "Why on earth did you do that for?! I had everything under control!" Strange said, at least Bruce thought it was Principal Strange.

Bruce and Renee peeked round the corner and witnessed Strange and a tall thinning man. "I am the great Ra's Al Ghul, I do not explain myself to anybody! Especially you!" Ra's Al Ghul suddenly grabbed Strange by the throat and snapped his neck in half, killing him instantly.

Bruce and Renee gasped in unison. "We've got to get out of here now!" Bruce ordered, ushering Renee out of the nearest exit.

Inside Ra's chambers, he spoke silently to himself. "I will get you Batman, and when I do, not only will I kill you, I will force you to do something that you cannot resist!".
