End of Nova

Chapter 10 | Last Look

'I'm going to tell you what my mother told me when I was younger,' she cupped the side of my face 'Don't run and be a coward for something you are ashamed of, embrace it the thing you are ashamed and scared of, and soon you'll have control.'

She smiled at me once more, before she drifted away. I could see it all in her eyes, she knew about me and my curse. Yet she stayed, and cared for me- loved me. She stayed knowing she could get hurt in the process. 

Why would anyone ever do that to them selves? 

Knowing the pain of staying to see nothing but an illusion. A little girl turned demon.

"You know what you have done? you have opened the family to secrets." I hear from around the corner.

I was going to go to the feeding hall, but too many people. I can eat later, when everyone is out enjoying their day.

"Secrets? It is like it never happened, like the people were wiped of this." Another voice erupts coming from the Queen and Kings room.

No one ever went in there. It wasn't forbidden, but no one wanted to be in there. The royals, were dead. Login into that room, it only reeked of sorrow and Bravada's tears. So what were these two wanderer's doing in there?

"Vicella was wiped, The Pelici,  their own daughter." A small scoff can be heard, and movement.

"She doesn't know she had an older brother. Let us keep it that way, and head back to base." A whirl of wind comes through the room, and a bright light blinds me.

I run into the room, bit it is far too late. 

The intruders must have left through a portal.

Portals were used to get from North to South Nova. No one from the north dared to used it, but the southerners did all the time. 

"A brother?" I mumble to myself, trying to make sense of the conversation I just overheard. 

I turn around , and head back the way I came. Who else knew about this? Or, better yet who knew and wasn't willing to say?

I keep walking until I stumble upon Adhara's room. She's not in one of her moods, where she has to punch something to get out of it. I knock and enter.

"What can I do for you Carina?" She asks me, setting down a large box. 

"You are all about conspiracy theories, I need to ask you something in confidence." I tell her, grabbing the chair from her dresser.

"Go on." She faces me, a places a hand on her hip.

"Did- I mean, would you happen to know if the royals had another child?" She takes a step back, and paces around the room.

"They did,but no one speaks about it. He got killed, trying to go to earth." She fishes thorough the box she took out earlier. A piece of paper, old and almost yellow is in her hands.

"It was said in the papers, that he died. But I don't believe it." She hands me the strip of paper, and goes though the box once more.

"Why don't you believe it?" I ask, but that was the wrong thing to do.

"You know what happens when some from our planet dies, so who's to say he's not just living in another body?" She stops rummaging through the paper box and looks at me.

"But if he switched bodies, why hasn't he found his way back here?" I ask her, it's true. Even though if a Novian, dies, they aren't really dead. Their soul locks onto another, and they take that life form. But they still have their memories, so why hasn't he come back yet?

"Maybe he's not on our planet." She shrugs her shoulders as I let out a sigh.

"Oh god, not this Earth thing again. Your really believe in that place?" I can't seem to be getting though to her, about her theories.

"Earth is real! We study it in history, come on." She takes the piece of paper out of my hand, and looks at it again.

"But even if it is, it's different. We're way more advanced, and we're probably ahead of them in time."I stand form the chair and look around.

Time wasn't something you wanted to mess with. I'm not saying that's how I got to have my demon, but it sure as hell is one way to get one. Being in a different solar system than Earth, it's very hard to imagine that Bravada went there. 

How the hell would she get there? We can't really travel in-between systems, well not yet. Scientists on out planet are devising a way to do so, but we still have years till we actually can do it. 

"I knew him, her brother. He was a real charming son of a gun. He almost got me to say yes to a date with him. But I know one things for sure, he always said he wanted to explore." She lets out a small sigh, and packs up the box.

"Wait, do you know his name?" If sh knew his name, we could ask someone around the castle for information.

"No, but I do know who would." She grabs my hand, and soon we're in front of Eos' door.

It's been a week since the whole accident thing. We talked, but just about everything else except it. I wanted nothing more than to put it behind me, an she wanted nothing else than to cure me. I faced the harsh reality that I couldn't be cured a lot time ago.

He opens the door, a small smile forming when he looked at me.

"What can I do for you guys?" He asks us, and Adhara just walks into his room, and I follow.

"You remember the prince right?" She asks him straight, I let out a little gasp. I though she was going to ease him into first.

"We're not supposed to talk about him.. but yes." He slightly orders, and he looks over to me.

"What was his name? How did he-uh, disappear?" I ask him, I didn't want to say die, might be a little to strong.

"His name is Kyle, and he was exploring another system when he crashed." He looks like he's about to glare us down for asking.

"Another system? Would this system include Earth?" Adhara asks him, a sly smile on her face.

"All I know is, he was exploring when his pod crashed. No signs of life were detected, and we all knew he was dead." He sits his back on his door, "But why are you asking?"

"She thinks-" 

"Knows."

"That Kyle is on Earth." I state, and his eyes go wide, maybe he's onto something.

"Find the others, and them come to the end of the hall , I have to show you something." He opens the door and leaves us in his room.

Adhara and I leave the room and find Kalani and Evana. They were in the library, eating and reading. We grabbed them as quick as we could and made our way back to Eos. He was standing in front of a door. He looked around before letting us all go in.

"What the hell is this place?" Kalani looks around, touching the papers and maps on the table.

"Only me and the Royals knew about this room. And there's something missing."He looks around franticly, he's never done this before.

"The timer." Evana whispers, which causes everyone of us to turn around and look at her. "She used the Falcon Timer, and she could be anywhere."

"Nope, she's on Earth." I hear Adhara once again with her thoughts, I turn to face her and let her down gently, but she's holding a small device.

She holds it out for everyone to see.

The little device has a falcon on the back, going around a clock, and the front has a display of planets on it. And the one that's glowing red, Earth.
