End of Nova

Chapter 24 | The myth, the Legend

I was late to go back to Earth! I slipped on my royal robe, and made a mad dash to the library. When I opened the doors, everyone was there. I was there, in my long red silk robe.

"Did you just wake up? And wow Bravada, save that robe for Evans." Kaylie giggled, standing right next to my brother!

"I thought I was late!" I shouted back to her, and she only shook her head. "I'll be back."

I left the library, and walked back to my room. I had years worth of clothes, I didn't want them. But there was a favorite item I had. When my mother went to Aveon, a neighboring planet and brought me a red dress.

I slipped it on, and grabbed the sandals I had underneath them. As I was heading out the closet, I ran into Deniya. She had the biggest smirk on her face, and she took a seat on my bed.

"Is this for Evans? You know Earth boy is lucky." She looked at my dress in awe.

"My mother has one, in purple. I want you to have it." Deniya was one of the capitals that I looked up to the most. 

"Bravada, I can't take that it was-" I shushed her, and she continued "Why are you giving it to me?"

"Because you would look beautiful in it. And I know Eos would love it." I knew all about her and Eos ever since I stopped liking him.

"Does everyone in the castle know about me liking him?" She laughed, hiding her face in her hands.

"Yes, and we all know how he feels about you. So before I leave, please kiss each other." When I said this her eyes popped out, and he swatted me across the arm.

"Bravada! I won't kiss him, not in front of everyone. I'll save it for sometime special." She mumbled to me, as she lifted her self from my bed.

"Okay Deniya Carina. Let's go then, my last walk in this castle." I latched onto her hand, and we walked to the library.

"So, you'll all be going to Earth. No come backs. Well, if you would like to come back," The doctor fished in his pockets and pulled out a silver tablet with a blue button. "You can."

Jones and Chris grabbed it at the same time. Fighting with one another over it. Kaylie was talking to Kyle, they both seemed pretty relaxed for what was coming. I was just ready to get back to Evans. Maybe he would want to come to Nova after all.

I grabbed the button from Chris and Jones an placed it in my bag.

After the doctor finished tinkering a little bit with the timer, everyone gave each other a series of hugs. I got the most, and I didn't even have to count. 

Me and my friends stepped into the timer, and took our seats. I think Jones was on the midst of crying, and Jones told him to 'buck up'

I looked out the door one last time. And there everyone was. Deniya caught glance of me, and ran up to Eos and placed a kiss on his cheek. He looked so nervous, and was only staring at her now. 

They all said goodbye as the doors closed. 

Back to Earth we go.

The timer landed, and the doors opened. We landed back in the park where it all first started, with the same snow too. Everyone was getting out their seats and picking up their bags. I only had a little travel bag, everything I have is here with Evans.

Chris and Jones told us that they needed to get back home to their families. Just to let them know that they were okay, and they'd be back at Evans' place in no time. Me and Kaylie were headed straight to Evans place.

It was a long walk. Almost like the walk I had when I got lost and found Kaylie. Except this time, we talked. She told me a lot of things about herself. Like how her dad lives in Florida, the sunshine state. Or was the California?

Anyways, she said she might head back there and help him with his new family. Apparently the two got disconnected when Kaylie came to New York. But she plans to change that now. 

I told her that I didn't know what me and Evans were going to do. We could do anything, I wasn't going back to Nova. I was here to stay.

We got to the apartment, and she got out her keys. As she opened the door it was silent, maybe ehe had stepped out. Kaylie went to the living room to turn on the lights, when I heard her scream. I ran to where she was and she stood in front of an old man.

This looks like the old man- it was. The old man me and Evans went to see when I first told him I was form Nova. What was her doing here? How did he get in?

"You must be Kaylie, and Bravada! Nice to see you again." He got up from the seat and shook my hand.

"It is nice to see you too, but what are you doing here?" His face seems to change as he starts stuttering.

"I was waiting for one of you to come to his home. Please sit." He sat and so did I. Kaylie get up and said she would make some drinks.

"So, what is it sir?" I asked him, and he seemed like a nervous ball of nervousness. "Are you okay?"

"Yes Bravada, but I have something to tell you."  He seemed to be searching of the words, and they didn't seem good. 

"Where's Evans?" I asked him, just as Kaylie walked into the room and sat next to me.

"We were working on a way to get him to Nova. He said he made a mistake in not going." He stopped talking and took a sip of the drink that was prepared. "And he said he had to go upstate, to see his mother."

"Had? He didn't come back from seeing Karol?" Kaylie questioned him and he just shook his head, for no. "So where is he?"

"They think he got into an accident, when he was coming back home. They think his car slid off the road, and into the ice river. He's presumed dead." Everything went still, Kaylie was breathing rapidly, and the doctor held his head low.

"I was supposed to come back, to him. We- we were supposed to talk. We- I was- He was..." I struggled to even think that he was not here with me, let alone gone.

How could this happen again? How could someone I care for die? Again? Was I bound to never have someone?
