I just realized I'm at part 60. I'm more than a fourth of the way through this art book. Wow. Also, I do have a small announcement. For any questions you have towards me, you can go to a new book I will be posting up a little later, which will be for your questions.

I think I need to curve the smile more and make the eyes slightly bigger, or I could shorten the jaw.

Okay so here's a step by step way of how I usually draw eyes. (It's more like phase by phase though) (if I can I'll try to do an actual step by step version.) You don't have to read the captions, but if you're interested to see how I draw then go ahead.

(^) The basic lines.

(^) Then I add thickness to the outer side of the iris to give it a little sense of depth and to add my own twist to it

(^) I add in the highlight of the eye where the light shines off of it. I try to curve the line to make it fit the curvature of the space between the eye and the bottom of the eyelid look more settled, which would make it seem like the person was calm. (Which is the expression I usually go for when testing out an eye type.)

(^) After that, I make the line for the overall shading of the eye

(^) I use my signature curving style and connect the new shadow with a specifically designed pupil that I made by trial and error

(^) One of the very last steps is adding some type of design into the blank space in the eye, which would be represented (in color) by a darker variation of the color of the iris

After that I'd add a few of my own touches depending on how I want it to look, and there it is!

Thanks to those of you who have been staying with me even through those somewhat long periods of time where I don't update because I'm trying to draw and nothing comes out quite right. I've been doing a lot more traditional art lately, but I tried out a new program I got from a friend, and it works really well and all, so I'll have to see if I can find a way to show you guys what I've been trying without having to take a picture of the screen. (The camera makes it so the screen has lines all over it, so it doesn't look too pleasing.)

Also, remember that requests are open. So if you'd like me to draw someone/something go ahead and request it.
