"Would you like?" Connor asked offering Ella a drag of his cigarette.
"No." She bluntly replied but Connor isn't really the type of guy who'd take no for an answer, he was the persuasive type and Ella had a will of her own, people would think they go together like fire and oil but really, they're soul mates.
"Come on Ella, I know you want to." He carried on.
"No Connor!" I could tell she was getting annoyed so I told her that I'd take the drag for her.
"Connor pass that cig here." She said reaching over for it.
"Thank you." I took a drag of the cigarette and gave it back to her which she then gave back to Connor without putting her lips to it.
"Colt I want to drive."
"No Ella."
"Colt please!" She pleaded for a few minutes before he'd decided to give his little sister the satisfaction and allow her to drive.
"Thank you Colt." She said as he stopped the golf cart and walked around to where we were sitting.
"I want to show you girls something."
"Go ahead Colt we're watching." I said patiently. He inhaled a lot of smoke from his cigarette and somehow when he'd try letting it out there was nothing, now I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure it took practice not to choke on all that smoke.
"Damn Colt, that was really something else." I said as he sat down next to me and Ella started the golf cart.
The next few minutes were filled with the interesting genre of music that the boys had chosen and nothing else until Colton decided to make some small talk.
He placed his hand on my leg and suddenly I felt somewhat uncomfortable actually it just surprised me I mean he'd touched my leg before but it has never had this effect on me.
"Alea," he started off while rubbing his thumb over my leg, "I know you don't want to talk about what happened between you and Tyler, but if you ever feel the need to, I'm always here, okay?"
I placed my hand on his to stop his thumb from moving over my goosefleshed skin and said, "Colt, thank you, for just being you and obviously for being here for me but I don't want you to stress about it and I still want you to hang out with Tyler, it's not his fault that we slept together,"
"You slept together ?" Colton interrupted me and he seemed extremely angry.
"Well, yes, I was drunk, completely drunk and although it's still all a blur I know that's what happened." I looked down at my hands embarrassed by the fact that I'd let things go that far.
"Alea have you spoken to him about it yet?"
"No, I'm too embarrassed." I truthfully was, I was scared of what he'd say.
"I don't want to push you or anything," he entwined our fingers while completing his sentence, "but I think you should talk to him about it, it might not even have happened."
I didn't hear much of what he had to say after our fingers were entwined because I was completely caught off guard by this gesture all I could do was stare at our hands and when Colton noticed this he gave my hand a small squeeze, lifted my chin and asked, "Did you not hear a word of what I said Miss McCoy? "
"No sorry." I smiled at him as the space between us seemed to be decreasing by the second and suddenly all I could do was push my head into the nape of his neck.
He wrapped his arms around me and it was a matter of seconds before I burst out into tears.
"She's okay Ella but we can't go back home now just wait until she's calmed down."
I love the smell of his cologne but when I realized that it is the same as Tyler's I couldn't help but break down and his instinct to comfort me was the best thing he has ever down. I was thankful to be in his arms at that very moment.
