Calum's POV
That couldn't have gone any better, I whispered to myself. This is officially the happiest I've ever been.I walked back to my house, and knocked on it. And the door opened a few seconds later.
"I've never seen you this happy before Calum" mum said with a surprised look on her face. I plaster a big smile and went in the house as she closed the door.
"So where did you go?" she asks. "I was just walking around the streets" I lied to her. She gave me a smirk and said "Well it's really late, why don't you go and get some rest sweetie". "Nights mum" I said to her as I went upstairs into my room.
I laid on my bed and let out a huge sigh. I was happy, that it was over and done with. I stared at the wall, thinking about that whole moment again. It was a beautiful memory.
Then it hit me. I was suppose to text Katie. Is she still awake though? I asked myself. I don't wanna disturb her or anything. But I did promise her that I'll text.
"It worked Katie. Annie and I are back together" I texted Katie.
Katie's POV
I have to admit, it was kind of awkward, seeing my brother almost tearing up over a girl. But that's love. And I want that. I want a guy who would cry over me and make me feel special.Like what Annie is getting right now. God. I envy that girl so much. Why does she have to be so perfect? Why does she gets all the guys, and gets all the fans, and have the perfect life? I asked myself. I would die to be in her position right now.
"We're home!" I hear my mom shout as she opened the front door. She arrived with a bunch of groceries, and asked Brennan to go and help daddy and Ryan with the rest in the car. Which Brennan immediately did.
She put all the groceries in the kitchen and came straight to the living room, where I was hanging. She sat on the couch and let out a huge sigh of relieve.
"Tired?" I asked her. "Yes, very" she answered back.
She must have noticed that I was looking pretty down, and so she asked "Are you okay Katie?". I didn't really had an honest answer to that. I just raised my eyebrows and nodded my head.
Then out of nowhere, my phone buzzed.
I immediately knew that it was gonna be Calum, ready to talk about his perfect moment with Annie.
"Who is it?" mommy asked. "I don't know" I shrugged my shoulders. "Well aren't you gonna check it?" she insisted.
I know that if I looked at it, it was just gonna make me feel way worse than I already am.
I sighed. And picked up my phone.
Surprise surprise, it's Calum. Then it hit me. What if it didn't work and they broke up? But the likelihood of that happening would be almost zero. I prepared myself for the worst and opened the text.
"It worked Katie. Annie and I are back together" Calum texted.
Reading that text felt like getting stabbed a million times. "Something wrong?" mommy asked, she must've noticed me almost tearing up. I just shook my head.
"I think I'm gonna go to bed mom" I mumbled. "Okay sweetie, goodnight" she said back.
I went upstairs, into my room, and slammed the door shut. I laid down on my bed, and instantly started crying. I couldn't hold back the tears any longer.
I stared at the ceiling, trying to find some positives from this. And I did.
I felt free. I feel like there's a long road ahead of me. And I'm free to choose my own destiny now.
Caleb, I whispered to myself. I love him more than anything. I shouldn't have even bothered chasing Calum. Caleb is the person that's gonna make me feel happy.
I texted Caleb, right after I washed my face.
"Hey Caleb, you wanna hangout tomorrow?" I texted him.
Caleb's POV
Annie and drama just seems inseparable, I sighed."You okay Hayley?" I asked my little sister. "Yeah" she said while staring down on the floor. "Aww come here" I offered her a hug, to make her feel better.
She sat next to me and I hugged her as I tight as I could.
"Aww" I hear my mom say from the kitchen counter. I just smirked at her. "Feel better?" I asked Hayley. She nodded a yes.
As soon as I let go of Hayley, my phone buzzed. Who could possibly text me at this hour? I asked myself.
I checked my phone and it was Katie.
I smiled. The tiredness and sleepiness that I was feeling, suddenly disappeared.
"Hey Caleb, you wanna hangout tomorrow?" she asked.
"Yeah sure. Are you okay?" I texted back immediately.
"Actually no, I wanna get a few things off my chest" she texted.
"Aww what's wrong?" I asked her. "Ill tell you tomorrow. I'm just not in the mood right now" she answered.
"Okay sweetheart. Now go get some rest" I texted her. "Goodnight Caleb" she replied. "Sweet dreams" I texted back.
