The next three periods drug on. I ignored the lessons and instead dreamt of her, my senpai. My fingers could almost feel her soft, butterscotch colored hair, my lips could almost taste her sweet smelling skin. I was being driven insane by the thought of her.
And yet, I still didn't know her name. She always kept her binder with her and every time I went near her, I froze up.
The bell woke me from my thoughts. I gathered my books and shuffled to my locker. Quickly, I switched my books for my lunch. As I closed my locker door, she strode past me, laughing. My heart nearly stopped at the beautiful sound of her laughter. She was truly perfection. I dawdled near my locker until she began to make her way to the lunch room.
She sat at her usual spot in the courtyard, under one of the cherry blossom trees. I took my seat far enough to not seem suspicious, but close enough to see and hear.
"Elise!" A girl with short, dark hair approached my senpai. The two of them hugged before sitting and beginning to eat.
So her name is Elise? How perfect!
I tried her name on my tongue, the word forming effortlessly of my lips, as if it were made to be. The rest of lunch period I spent imagining her name breathless on my lips.
Elise, Elise, Elise. Oh, how I love you, Elise!
My thoughts were interrupted by a buzzing in my back pocket. I pulled out my phone. On it was a text from and unknown number.
Unknown: Are you stalking her?
My stomach dropped with panic. Who was this, and how did they have my number? I quickly replied.
Who is this?
Unknown: I asked my question first. Answer it.
Annoyed, I frowned at my phone.
I don't know who you are talking about. Stalking is creepy, anyway.
Unknown: I'm talking about Elise Varabond. You've been following her around lately.
I snorted, it sounded as though this unknown person had been stalking me as well.
It seems as though you have been following me, too. I have not been following Elise, it seems that may have been a coincidence.
Unknown: I could say the same thing.
I didn't reply. Instead, I set my phone down. It continuously buzzed throughout the remainder of lunch period, a painful reminder that I had been caught.
