There she is.
I kept my head down as my heart beat faster. Her voice filled the air as she walked past me. Discreetly, I glanced up at her, smiling to myself.
She's so cute.
"Hey, are you coming?" Someone nudged me.
"Uh, yeah," I said quietly, trudging towards class. I trailed behind her, keeping my eyes low so no one would notice me watching her. Her skirt was short, just barely skimming her thighs and - oh!
I turned away, my face red as she fell and, inevitably, flashed me.
"I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, quickly fixing herself as her friends helped her up.
"It's fine," I managed to murmur, feeling my pulse quicken as she looked at me, as she spoke to me.
I stole a glance at her face. She, too, was blushing, her intoxicating hazel eyes watering from the fall.
How I would love for her to look at me this way forever.
The moment did not last long, due to the late bell ringing. Sadly, I rushed to class and took my seat.
First period - Biology. We were done with the endless vocabulary and instructions. For once, we were doing a lab.
While the teacher droned on and on about what organs we were supposed to be looking for and what their functions were, I thought over the incident in the hallway. That enticing blush on her face and the helpless look in her eyes. I wonder if it wasn't an accident and she was teasing me? She had to be wearing lace for some good reason.
"Tyler," I jumped at the sound of my name and gentle touch on my shoulder. I glanced over at my lab partner. She looked at me with concern, "Are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah, I was just, um, thinking," I said, waving my hand to dismiss the matter.
"Okay, well, I'm going to go get the supplies. Feel free to look over the instruction sheet," she said, turning to leave. For some odd reason, I couldn't remember her name. Quickly, I checked the inside of her binder for her name.
Oh, Violet, to match the way she smells.
Even from a distance I could smell her flowery perfume. It was sickening. I pulled the instruction sheet out of my own binder and waited patiently for Violet to return.
The specimen we were to dissect was simple and oh-so cliché. I watched as Violet set the tray with the dead frog on the countertop. Quickly, I picked up the scalpel and made the necessary incisions.
"How do you do that?" Violet asked in awe, "Dead things are so creepy, I can barely look at them."
"If you figure it's already dead, than don't let its life go to waste," I shrugged, continuing the lab.
Violet rarely talked after that, only commenting when required. The bell rang and I was more than happy to leave the class that stank of rotting flowers.
