A little girl lost and all alone,
no friends, no family, no place to call home,
A sad girl or so some might say, pity in their eyes as they watch her play,
innocent laughter fills the air
she's talking though nobody's there,
Look at the light in her eyes, watch her as she plays,
lost but not afraid she takes it day by day,
examining roads and exploring each way,
Constantly searching for someone that will stay

A century goes by as night fights the day
Watch her as she takes the stage, flames dancing in her mind,
As her hips sway to the music attempting to keep time
she exhales and closes her eyes, transporting herself into another dimension,
She steals a glimpse into the future to escape from her past,
A little girl on her own was not built to last,
As the music fades away,
reality will always find its way.
