Chapter 14 pt.1

Abel:
I really did want to fix my relationship with Cami but she wouldn't give me a real chance, only 'cause she knew I'd fuck it up just like the first time we were together. Everything she had said the other night about me not being able to be in a relationship was true. All I wanted to do was get high, party, drink or fuck, but I was telling the truth when I said I'd let it all go for her. Of course she didn't believe me though,I wouldn't have believed me either, but I had plans to change that.

I was sitting at the table writing when Cash sat in the chair across from me.

"What's up with you and Bella man?"

I looked up from my notebook. "What do you mean?"

"She's usually everywhere you are... I mean I'm not complain' or anything 'cause she's annoying but what's up?"

"Honestly, I haven't even talked to her in like four days."

"Damn, y'all through?"

"We might be, I don't know."

"So...what's goin' on with you and Cami?"

"She's a little mad at me right now but I already know how I'm gonna fix that."

"How?"

"Her birthday's comin' up and I got something nice planned."

"Oh shit, okay." He laughed as he got up from the table.

Cami:
I had just got in from work when my phone started to go off, I assumed the text was from Tia so I ignored it for a little bit until I got two more. When I finally decided to read them they were all from Abel:

Abel: I know your birthday isn't til tomorrow but I got a surprise for you

Abel: Your mom is gonna take Ava and AJ for tonight.

Abel: And I'm coming to pick you up, so be ready by 7:30.

I sighed and shoved my phone in my pocket as I turned to my mom.

"What's going on?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why are you taking the twins tonight?"

She shrugged. "Abel asked me to take them. I didn't ask any questions."

"Okay then..." I sighed. "Well if you need me, just call." What I had really meant was "Please call me so I don't have to spend time with Abel." but she didn't catch on so her and the twins had left.

I took my phone out my pocket to check the time, 6:30. "Fuck I only got an hour."

I made my way back into the bathroom to take a shower really quick. Twenty minutes later, when I got out I realized Abel had given me no details as to where we were going, so I had no idea what to wear. Knowing Abel, I assumed it was a party of some sorts and picked out my favorite black dress. By time I finished getting ready it was 7:25 and Abel had already sent me a text telling me to come outside. When I walked outside there was a black escalade with dark tinted windows waiting. I opened the door to get in and expected to see Abel there but the backseat was empty, but Freddy was sitting in the driver's seat.

"Hey Freddy...I thought Abel was coming to pick me up?"

"Nah, he's waiting for you."

"Um, okay." I didn't ask anymore questions 'cause I had a feeling he wouldn't answer them anyway. Instead I just climbed in the backseat and he pulled off.

After what seemed like what like forever, we pulled up outside of a tall mostly glass building. Langham Place. He brought me to a fucking hotel. I was about to ask Freddy to take me home but he was already outside on the sidewalk and opening my door for me.

"Why are we here?"

He didn't answer, instead he threw the keys to valet and we continued inside. We made our way through the lobby and to a long flight of white stairs.

"Here you are."

"Abel's up there?"

He nodded.

"Okay then..." I started my way up the steps and Freddy turned, making his way back across the lobby.

At the top of the stairs were two big glass doors with fancy words that read "Ai Fiori". I opened them and stepped into a dimly lit restaurant that seemed rather quiet. Not knowing where to go I stood there for a minute before a waitress came around the corner.

"Camille?"

"Yes."

She smiled. "Follow me."

I followed her through the huge dining area passed countless booths and tables, all which were empty, except the one booth in the back. Abel was sitting alone, playing on his phone and biting his lip like he does when he's nervous.

"Hi Abel." I said as we approached him.

He looked up from his phone and smiled.
