Chapter 21 pt.2

Abel:
Thirty minutes or so after Bella and I 'broke up' I was at Cami's house. I knocked on the door and waited for a minute before she answered with Ava and AJ on either side of her.

"Hi dad!" They said in sync with each other as Cami stepped to the side to let me in.

I smiled as I picked them up. "What are you guys up to?"

"We was playing hungry hungry hippos." Ava answered me. "You wanna play?"

"Sure, but I haven't played in a long time. I'll probably lose."

"Good, I wanna win!" AJ said.

They both jumped out of my arms and ran over to the table where they were playing so Cami and I followed them.

We sat down and they told me I was yellow and Cami was orange. We were gonna start but Cami's phone started to ring.

"Shit." I heard her mumble under her breath. "Uum, you guys go ahead and play. I'll be right back."

She got up and walked back into her room as she answered it.

Fifteen minutes and 5 games of hungry hungry hippos later Cami finally came back, and she didn't look too happy.

"Mommy I won three times!" Ava smiled big.

"And I won two times!" AJ said.

"That's great." She smiled. "Abel can I talk to you real quick?"

"Yeah." I got up and followed her over to the couch. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong. I just...Can you watch the twins tonight?"

"Of course I can. Are you sure nothings wrong?"

"Yeah, I'm sure." She gave me a half ass smiled.

Camille:
I totally forgot Kendrick and I were supposed to be going out tonight, when he had called earlier I tried talking my way out of it but it didn't work.

"Mommy where are you goin?" AJ asked me as I put my shoes on. He always had to know where I was going and what I was doing...kinda like Abel.

"I'm just going out somewhere, I'll try and come back before you go to sleep. Okay?"

"Okay." He smiled. "Will you bring me somethin' back?"

"Sure." I laughed as I got up and grabbed my keys. "C'mon I gotta go."

He followed me out to the living room where Ava was trying to convince Abel to play fairies with her.

"I'll see you guys later." I gave the twins and Abel a kiss before I left.

Twenty minutes later I was following a waitress who lead me to a table where Kendrick was sitting. I sat across from him and smiled coyly.

"Hi Kendrick."

"Hey baby." He smiled. "Why you looking like that?"

"Like what?"

"You look upset or somethin'?"

"I'm not upset...I just...We gotta talk."

"Okay, about what?"

I looked down at the table and that wave of guilt washed over me again. I took a deep breath before I started talking.

"Uum...I obviously have feelings for you..."

He nodded for me to continue on.

"But...I also have strong feelings for...Abel."

He sucked his teeth. "What are you trying to say?"

"Abel and I want to try and work things out. For real this time."

"After everything he's put you through? You're going back again?" He shook his head. "I treat you so much better."

"I know him and I have been through a lot...but he's trying. And I wanna give him another chance."

"I'm not gonna tell you what to do. I'm just gonna say I know I'm better for you Camille. And when you realize that he really ain't shit, I'll be here."

"I'm sorry Ken-"

"You don't have to apologize."

We sat in silence and the longer we sat there the worse I felt.

"I think I should go."

"Remember what I said."

I nodded as I got up. That was honestly easier than I thought it was gonna be...

When I got home Abel was sitting on the couch watching Back to the Future.

"The twins are sleep?"

"Yeah, I kinda just let them run around until they wore themselves out."

I laughed as I sat next to him. "That works."

He put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed.

"Abel..."

"Yeah?"

"If you don't wanna be in a relationship, or you're not willing to let Bella go or anything else...tell me now, please. I love you but I can't get hurt anymore..."

"Camille..." He turned to look me in my eyes. "No one else matters to me as much as you and the twins do. So yes I wanna be in a relationship with you, and Bella and I are already through. For real this time. I'm not gonna fuck up anymore. I promise."
