A woman of royal persuasion wondered around the castle. Her eyes shifted threw the rooms as she searched for something. She caught sight of a small grey haired boy and made her way towards the child.
"Emil!" She called out.
The small boy looked up from the puffin he played with. His eyes were cool and soft while the rest of him was unfazed by the woman's presence.
"Where is Mikkel?" She asked.
The boy looked back at his puffin petting it's head. "In the Garden." He responded.
The woman dashed off in a fluster. Emil watched her run off then stood up sighing before following the woman out. The woman walked swiftly out into the garden threw the stone path to see two more boys. They were much older then Emil. One sat on a bench sipping a hot beverage as he watched the other more energetic boy shoot arrows at an unsuspecting scarecrow.
"Mikkel!" The woman yelled.
The spiky blonde haired boy turned around and smiled widely at the lady.
"Hey mom!" He called.
"Don't you hey mom me young man, I have been looking all over for you!" She said angrily.
"I've been here?" Mikkel said a bit confused.
"I told you to meet me in the billiard when you were done lunch. Lukas, did you not remind him?" She said looking to the the other boy.
"I did your majesty." He said not looking up from his tea. "But when is the last time he ever listened to me?"
The woman sighed when she realized the boy was right. She looked down at Emil who arrived at the scene. Then she looked back at her son.
"Well then I guess I will have to tell you like this." She sighed. "I have decided it is time for you to have a tutor so you can begin training to become king."
"King?!" Mikkel's ice blue eyes sparkled. "Score!"
"You will be going-"
"Going?! Where??" He interrupted.
"Let me finish." The Queen barked. "You are going to Finland so that Berwald may tutor you."
"Berwald?! That serious Swedish grump?!" Mikkel yelled.
"Yes, he is the most qualified." She went on.
"No way! Why can't Lukas teach me! I thought that was the plan all along?!" Mikkel snapped.
The woman took Mikkel by the ear dragging him away from the two boys. She looked at him angrily.
"Look, it's not just so that you can be tutored. Myself and the Finnish King have been talking, we think it's best if you and Tina could bring our countries together." She said.
"Mom, it's Tino and he's a boy." Mikkel said a little grouchy.
"Well he's so frail no one would know the difference." She shrugged.
"Mom no."
"Mom yes. You are going to Finland, and if you don't your little friends will be sent back to Norway and you will spend the rest of your life as a prince." She warned.
"What the hell mom. Why do we have to go there anyways, why can't they come here?"
The woman paused. She reached her hand to her chin and thought about it. She didn't expect her son to cooperate in the first place so maybe bringing them here would be a good way for her to keep an eye on him.
"We'll see." She said.
Then she just turned around leaving Mikkel confused and angry. He turned around and walked back into the garden. His face was red from anger. The two other males looked up and waited for the Danish prince to throw his tantrum.
"What in the name of Odin is she freaking talking about?! She wants me to go to Finland and marry their pathetic prince!! No way!! She can't do that right?! It's like child labor or something?! What a jerk!! She's crazy!! Gaaaaaah." He yelled.
The two boys stared with their permanently uncaring looks.
"Are you done?" Lukas asked.
"Maybe I am?!" Mikkel yelled on.
"If you have to go to Finland we'll go with you." He said sipping his drink.
Mikkel calmed down and he lit up. "Really?!"
"Well what else are we gonna do?" He sighed.
"Yes! I knew you'd be there for me!"
"Stop overthinking it." Lukas sighed.
But it was too late, Mikkel had a plan. He would have Lukas tutor him and he would become king, alone, without a Finnish queen king thing.
