Differential: Division Ten

"Answer it!" I yelled to Seth as we entered the trees, zig zagging to throw off the Bræum.

Another wave of nausea hit me and I knew more bad guys had joined the fight.

"I don't know the number!" He yelled, looking at his phone and dodging trees.

"Oh for pete's sakes!"

I grabbed the phone, knowing that whoever it was, they were important. Who else would have Seth's number?

"Hello?" I practically yelled, ducking under a branch.

"Seth Williams?" A guys voice asked

"Um he's kind of busy at the moment. Can I ask who the hell are you?"

Seth gave me a sharp look and took the phone from me, as we launched over a small ravine.

I heard the voice say something, but I missed Seth's response when I had to swerve around a tree.

"Shannon! Change of plans! Head east!"

I turned sharply left, and heard Seth follow.

I heard a crash, and ducked as pieces of plastic bounced off a tree ahead of me.

"Seth what the hell?" I yelled back to him.

"Had to destroy it!" He yelled back.

He pushed his pace up, joining by my side as I jumped a bush.

"A van is coming to meet us. The Colony found us."

I breathed a sigh of relief. At least we would be safe.

We circled a few times, making sure the Bræum weren't close when we found the meeting point.

We hid in a tree bordering the road, waiting for what Seth said would be a black van.

When it appeared, we dropped from the tree. The side door opened but the van didn't slow. Instead we ran beside it and jumped in.

There was a man in the drivers seat and a woman in the passengers seat.

The man was half Aduroum. The woman, full blood Aduroum.

"Thanks." I said a little breathlessly.

The man kept driving, but the woman turned around and smiled.

"We finally found you after Seth used his credit card. I didn't expect him to have a friend."

I nodded, "We met a couple of days ago. He um, healed me. I ran into a few government guys and a bit of Hematite unfortunately."

"Nasty stuff." Driver dude said.

"Where are we headed?" Seth asked, though I was sure the answer was obvious.

"The Colony." Aduroum lady replied.

"I'm sorry, how rude of me. My name is Camilla. You driver tonight is Matt."

Wait. How did she-

"It's one of my gifts. Mind-reading."

Um wow. Awkward. I'd have to remember to keep my thoughts PG around her.

Camilla laughed and I grimaced.

"This is Shannon." Seth offered.

Oh dear Lord above. Why is our kiss all I could think of? It's the whole don't think about it rule. If someone says not to think about it, it's the first thing in my head. Oh for the love of-
