Chapter Thirty Four

Yori’s POV

Fuck.

I cursed under my breath. Pinagpapawisan na ako. pero yung malamig na pawis. Takte. mamamatay na yata ako..

“so, how are you, Yori?” nakangiting tanong niya sa akin.

“ah.. uhm..” shit. I wasn’t expecting this. It’s been years but then hindi pa rin siya nagbabago. She still looks so goddamn breathtaking beautiful. Ito yung mukhang halos ikinamatay nina Luke at Timothy dati.

“I - - uhm, I’m fine, Ayanna. You?”

“I’m fine. More better than before..”

“anyways..” she continued. “hindi ko alam pumupunta ka pala sa mga ganitong restaurant.”

“ah no.. I came with someone.”

“talaga? Sino?” nakangiting tanong niya.

Oh tungunu. I can’t believe I’m having a conversation with her. Ang ex ni Luke at Timothy. Napailing nalang ako.

“Yori?”

“ah yes?” here I am again. Spacing out.

“I asked you kanina kung sino yung kasama mo pumunta dito..”

“ah yun pala? I’m with..” shit. Sasabihin ko ba?

“with whom nga? Ikaw pabitin ka talaga..”

“with Luke, Ayanna. I’m with Luke and her friend Chabella..” I saw how she changed her facial expression. From being happy to … sad? But then it suddenly changed. She smiled again.

“ohh..” she slowly nod. “with Luke.”

“y-yes.” Alinlangan kong sabi.

“ok. So how are you guys doing? I didn’t heard anything from you for 2 years. Did you guys change?”

“no. we’re still the same, Ayanna.. we’re all fine.”

She nod again.

“inabutan ako ni Zion kanina sa bahay eh. Medyo hindi naging maayos yung conversation namin kaya I was not able to ask him how are you guys doing. Ang init ng ulo niya pag dating sa akin. Maybe I did cost you many problems before..”

Mabuti naman at naisip mo ‘yun. Sasabihin ko sana sa kanya kaso lang parang ang bastos diba? And having a conversation with her today makes me feel something. Ayanna did not change physically but emotionally? She did changed a lot. Hindi na siya yung kilala kong Ayanna the bitch noon. I saw regret in her eyes when I mentioned Luke's name.

“it’s fine, Ayanna. What you did made our friendship stronger even more..” I gave her an assuring smile.

Magpapatawag ako ng emergency meeting mamaya. The 10 of us must have a conversation about this later. no, hindi pala 10. Luke and Timothy are not included in our meeting mamaya.

May sasabihin pa sana siya ng may biglang lalaking tumikhim sa likod niya. I didn’t recognize him. I did not see him before.

She turn around to see the guy and then she suddenly smile. A genuine smile. Nakangiti siyang tumingin sa akin pabalik at tumayo.
